Just curious....

If someone cancels a meet - any type, do you give them another chance?

My thinking is that if it seems like a genuine cancellation the first time I would reschedule but after a second time I'm done, whether we've met before or not.

How many chances would you give someone? Does it depend if you know them well? Would a new meet get less chances?

It depends how much time they gave us ,if it's a case where we are sitting waiting for them and we get a text , then we probably won't go out of our way to meet again,a last minute cancellation is a sign of cold feet ,if the really want to meet you they will go out of their way to be there and on time ,like we do

Cancellation with notice, fair enough. Cancellation with less than an hour's notice, is bad form. Disrespecting other people's time.

No show - don't give them a second chance.

One of my fab friends is as flakey as they come, now that I know him a bit more I think it's an anxiety issue maybe combined with some other reasons. It's always about them, never about you, but regardless, we all have to do what is best to protect ourselves and our self esteem. We must be our own best friends on fab.

Decent notice - yeah, usually try re-schedule

Very short notice - if it seems like a genuine excuse, happy to re-schedule. If I get the feeling it's a bit of a windy excuse I'll probably just let it fizz out and not bother again. Judge these ones individually really.

Im getting to the stage if ye cancel away ye go im done, and i totally get people have a life outside of fab family and work ect, things can and do happen but it's the same one's all the time, people talk on here so ye know who the spoofers and timewasters are just unfriend or block and it's happy days

Depending on the circumstances I might only give them that one chance.

I've never had a no show but have had 2 cancellations from well known forum posters, one of whom used to complain constantly about all the no shows she had.

When I contacted her on the morning of the meet she claimed to have no memory of ever arranging to meet me and she was too busy with vanilla friends.

Next day she had a new veri from a popular couple.

The other cancelled due to work commitments and again had a veri the next day that even named the coffee shop we had agreed to meet in.

If there is a genuine reason then yes I'll give them a second chance.

If I'm option B they can slide on. They had their chance.

Same here. Always ok to give a second chance, there can be genuine reasons for cancellation, even with very short notice.

It also depends on how much notice is given and if is someone you already know/meet before.

After the second time it’s a big no, especially if given with short notice, I think I only gave a third chance one time.

Depends on how well I know them and how many times I've met them. If it's a first meet and they cancel an hour beforehand, that's usually the end of it. Cancelling without a mention of another day or time is a case of cold feet

so "Next"

Now if I know them already, have met and something comes up (collecting kids, working late, etc) would always give them the benefit of the doubt

I've cancelled last minute in the past - literally as I was walking to the hotel, I got a phonecall from my child's school to say they were ill and I needed to come collect them; on another occasion my period arrived violently and unexpectedly when I was at the hotel getting myself ready.

So, given that, it would be hypocritical of me to take a hard line on last minute cancellations. Shit happens.

Had a couple at me for 2 weeks to meet, so I agreed, then they bailed as no baby sitter! But where on here none stop! Then came on complaining their meet was cancelled! They had gone with someone else! And yet had the neck to try to come back to me to meet up! They got told straight out where to shove their request and what to wrap it in. Blocked! I tried being nice got me no where now it's 1 chance and blocked.

I've lost count the number of times I've been cancelled on or given the run around. In the past I let it go probably with people I were more familiar with but after amount of soul searching and copping myself on I just don't take it anymore. If the person messages back I just ignore going forward.

If you did go to meet that person. Everybody around you/ye would be sif, sif . (If it was inside) after awhile a staff member, sif, sif, lift your boot, lift your boot. Sif, sif, is somebody after dragging shit in here?

Things come up for whatever reason , and benefit of the doubt should be given in most cases...

But a tell tell sign is do they keep up contact , do they try to set another date.

We have found when someone cancels , they rarely make the effort to reschedule.

It used bother us ,especially when you see them getting verifications after. But we are now on frame of mind we only want to meet people who really want to meet us.

We wish people would be upfront and honest whether that nerves kicked in ,or the spark isn't there (or was there but has faded ) rather than making excuses but such is life.

I know we are lucky because we are a couple and have each other no matter what, so cancelations doesnt bother us, but still frustrating

Have had 2 cancellations from couples in the past. One was no reason given and the other was chat up till the last moment and then got blocked. Not sure but I think meet cancellations here are a thing which people use when they are not horny anymore.

The way I look at it is the reason doesn't really matter. Someone might have a personal situation and not want to share that anyway.

What matters is the follow up. If there's still interest and communication and then sure I'm happy to reschedule.

Coffee cups.

Just spilled coffee all over myself on way to a coffee meet. Yes I love my coffee. I blaming these new compostable coffee cups. Lids don't fit. There's my excuse for cancelling a coffee meet.

Hmm it depends.

If I have a meet I’m setting things in place to make sure will be there. That’s not just for fab meets.

I’d feel bad knowing someone was looking forward to it only for me to cancel last minute.

I’ve only had one meet cancel on fab, which I later found out was a common theme, so I’m glad I didn’t continue that conversation.

Life happens, so if someone cancels on me, I would give them the benefit. But if they cancel on me a second time and give me less notification than the first time, it would be a clear indication that they have zero interest in me.

I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt.. would never call anyone out on anything without evidence.

Typically, if they cancel twice on short notice, that's a done deal for me.

Most of the time in my experience, people cancel on my wife and I (typically last minute) and then we never hear from them again. So no second chance necessary
