what is the correct ratio, for varis given to received, after a social event?

There is no correct. Verify or don't, it's your choice. The only thing I would say is if you were taking to someone who didn't have any verifications yet (and appeared to be as they described themselves on their profile) then it would be meaningful to them to have one so that would be a nice thing to do.

What ratio exactly?

For the last 3 or 4 events I've been at I have verified anyone I chatted to but less than 10 percent of those reciprocated.

They may have had their reasons but whether or not that is the correct ratio I've no idea.

I wouldn't say a ratio but if someone verifies me I'll verify them because its polite, also I'll verify someone I met for the first time but maybe not people I've met lots of times.

I asked this question a few weeks ago, I went on a social with someone with no veris and I still haven't received one back

I won't ask him for one because I really shouldn't have to but I veri everyone I have spent a night chatting to but most of the time don't get one back, so now I don't bother unless I'm asked for one or I receive one.

Going forward i won't be leaving verfies for anyone after a social night, ive learnt that the hard way recently with that, ill always return one if left one but won't be the first to leave one.....
