Nothing really great in the area if your coming our from city center. Market bar restaurant is beautiful.

You’d be doing well to find a pub close by that’ll have standing space let alone a food sitting, even a few hours beforehand. You'd be better to get food in the city centre or your hotel; even then they will be busy.

You will be pushed to find a space but perhaps if you are early Fagans, Cat and Cage and Tolka House are good spots for pub grub

Go to Bison Bar and get some good bbq and beers and a 20min walk after with a smile on your face.

It's what Bruce would eat I'm sure

Fagans in Drumcondra .. no frills but good for a bit of grub .. handy walk up to Croker from it afterwards
