I set up a Tinder account about a week ago, apart from one person, there is very little interaction.

Is Tinder dead?

Is it effective for other people?

I never tried it but friends of mine use it quite a lot, most last minute dates

I've been on and off tinder over the years. I've found it pretty ok for interaction. I suppose it's like most apps you have to be patient and have a good profile. Bumble is a good app too I've found

I find typically on tinder I get matches now and again but they very rarely chat or interact. Bumble the same. I've a bit more interaction on hinge but only a little

Yes they definitely do interact , I’ve had plenty of nice interactions , on the app and in person.

I set up a Tinder account about a week ago, apart from one person, there is very little interaction.i set up an account one month ago. Had very little response but when I look at who is near and do a search there seems to be very few women nearby. So very disappointing.

I've seen one or two on tinder that I've seen on kik or here but if we haven't chatted here I leave them alone. I reckon its a hard thing to broach without looking like a stalker.

So I just leave it.

.

I think a lot of the apps are designed to be kind of addictive, and get you on there and stay on there.

But beyond the browsing and swiping most people don't seem to be interested in making the effort to follow through. The dopamine hit of just getting a match is enough for most people.

I've known many people to be on dating apps for years and never plan a single date, even though they get matches.

Just like with Fab, that part takes effort.

Have had a few conversations on tinder with matches but they seem to peter out if i don't set up a date straight away. Other matches don't respond at all to messages.

Never been on Tinder or any dating app until I joined Feeld late last year...

I would highly recommend it as more open minded people on it...I've had some great experiences but have been told it is because I am Dublin based...but worth a try

I've used Tinder for years, I was in a two year relationship with a Lady I met but that ended due to my life style , I'm also still very friendly with another Lady I met 4 years ago on Tinder in fact where meeting today (we swing together) . Tinder certainly worked for me. I prefer FAB though.

Thank you, I think I ve gotten used to Fab, where I virtually never message first, perhaps I need to be more proactive on Tinder. I want someone convenient and local ideally. Really just an FB, but that's what Tinder is about too. Thanks!

I dunno my profile on tinder is fairly specific about not wanting any real commitment and then I Keep getting matches with women who seem to take offence if I don't want to discuss plans for the medium/long term future. They just swipe on the profile pic (without reading the profile)

In terms of sex I have met one great fb on tinder and we get along v well but that's out of dozens of matches that went nowhere

Now that's not boasting, that's dozens in the 10 years I've been on and off tinder.

I think as Beija was saying it's all a different story in Dublin but even in Cork, Galway and Limerick I never had much luck on tinder and honestly my profile and personality are the same as here really so it's just different people

I’m probably too old for Tinder. I always thought it was for an under thirty’s age group.

Why would you think that ??

There’s no age limit , it’s for all ages

Found this too, I've chatted to lads and ladies who find it works as a pick up site whereas I seem to match with the ones wanting a relationship

Feeld was good before the last update, unbelievable number of fake profiles though.

I find it to be a big waste of time. Been on and off it like here with no luck.

Keep seeing “sorry if you got a like from me my friend stole my phone, I definitely don’t like you” or “I don’t message first” or if you get a match and try to start a conversation you get unmatched.

From my male point of view it wipes here and elsewhere. But definitely not as good as it was pre Covid as there was way more people on it.

But overall yes, chats and some dates or whatever your into is there.

I find if you start messaging you kinda have to meet within a couple of days because the chat kinda goes dead. I'd the chats are going well on tinder it usually moves into Snapchat
