Foxford

Having arm at elbow level & moving lower arm up towards month. Holding for a few seconds, before lowering it again. Might even lower arm fully for a time while doing it aswell. Repeat it as often as I/you like before changing arms.

Gymnastics is fun..I used to rock climb too but can't these days due to injury. I can't handle the monotony of running and also physically can't (see rock climbing injury) but I do love to just put my head down and swim from time to time

Weights …great to clear the head and just focus on what I’m doing (lift up heavy thing, put it down, repeat)

Other than that I love hiking (especially early mornings with the dogs). Great to just be in nature and disconnected for a while.

Hillwalking.

Outdoors in the fresh air with the opportunity to chat to like minded people.

Beats being swamped in other people's sweat in the gym any day.

Mrs loves the crosstrainer - less pressure on the knees and doing weight, before all the oestrogen deserts her and her bones crumble to dust!

Mr used to triathlons and is trying to get back to that sort of fitness

Only very few people actually sweat in the gym; most are hogging machines and glued to their phones. Time spent in the gym does not equate to exercising

If she is experiencing knee issues, tell her to get an MRI scan and she may be eligible for hyaluronic acid injections. My knees are shagged and I am currently exploring these after hearing first hand stories about them from others in the same boat. They are repeated every 6-8 months. I have a few years of squats left in me yet

Id love to lift weights more but always found it daunting. Different weights, machines and muscle groupings - its always been easier to throw on the runners and head off. Lifting weights would help avoid injuries though.
