You realise over time they’re not as sound and honest as they initially made out to be and there is no way of taking back that verification.

I totally agree with you, also we don't verify back, if we got a bad vibe, I guess veris are the first impression kind of thing but I like what you say, will definitely be more conscious of it.

No reason at all she's a lovely woman ....I can only assume I was busy with work and never got to it

I tend now to look at that page on my account anyway so never noticed

95% of my veris are socials anyway

Yeah it will show in the summary but no one can read it. Some people who leave and come back try get them again so they can meet again but harder if you were not as good as they thought

I recently was verified by a lovely, sound, funny guy. He put a mild joke in the veri, about not being a muscle man but would make up for it with attention. It was a joke about something we chatted about. I didn't display it, because there are soooo many people that scrutinise and would apply some other, nasty meaning to it.

I ve given veri s to people who were sound at the time, but not so pleasant afterwards.

Then there are the people that are primarily chasing someone else and they are lining you up for a potential for some time in the future, so they are luke warm about you, so as not to piss off their number 1 person. They are a bit annoying too, they run hot and cold. Hot 1 on 1, colder in front of a fab audience.

Over time you get wary of the veri .

Now with all that being said 8 must verify someone who joined fab yesterday, on my suggestion. So I guess I should verify him!

I have set myself rules.

I get a veri I display it once I veried back, normally after 24 to 48 hours, and I normally tell them it could be a day or two as I like to have a clear head and time to write them,even if only a short one.

I display every veri I get, I didn't want to pick favourites, not judging anyone who does, but I'm shit at decision making as it is, this way they all just go up.

I've some which are not displayed, a few of them are copies of ones that are up, but the fabber asked to post the one without typo etc...

And there are 2 or 3 I didn't publish because they were outright lying, saying we had great craic at a social event but I never actually spoke to them.

I also normally tell people or organisers that very rarely I verify a second time. Maybe after lots of time has passed but I don't expect one everytime they see me either, especially organisers, they have enough to do.

And same as others here, if the person turns out to be horrible or something down the line, I block them and they loose the veri.

Now lastly, if you read this, and we've met at a social event and you think I should have veried you, send me a message, I'm absolutely desperate with remembering names, my apologies.

I've met and giving verifications in the past on my previous profile and happy to do it on this one once I've chatted to someone or met them over a social coffee. However I've also been bitten with it too hense why I deleted my old profile. Was nice enough to give someone a verification and in return the stole my pics and made an account on an alternative version of this site and only found out through some good friends I have on it. So once bitten twice shy as they say I'll always wait to know someone a bit before I'd give one out

I've met people socially 3 or 4 times and verified them a couple of times and they have never displayed them or given a verie in return.

They have said in the forums that they don't verify anyone but they have written and displayed a number of them since meeting me.

I have to assume they have their reasons for not wanting people to know we have met.

I verify everyone I meet and most return the favour but half of those I have met have left the site so those verifications have gone.

There are a few others I don't display because they turned out to be completely two faced with fake personalities and I don't want to be associated with them anymore.

I also had a couple that I've never displayed because the verification they left bore no resemblance at all to what actually happened and hinted at play that was all in their imagination.

For us the whole point is to prove you are what you claim to be. Once you go over a handful then you exceed that threshold, so having more and showing more is pointless. In years gone by on old profiles this was more important to me and we had well over 100.

I hate writing veri's tbh but I do write them!! I don't write a veri for everyone who gives me a veri but I know I'll see them at another organised social and I may verify them then!!

I prefer to verify people who I've chatted for a while, especially any newbies I've chatted to!!

If somebody verified me and I can't remember them (hard to remember everybody's fab name!!

) I won't verify them back

I don't always feel like verifying people I meet at organised socials, I make more effort to verify newbies especially if they've been nice & respectful to me and we got on!! (I find writing something in the notes section of fab, on the night helps, little things like if their good looking, their age, kik name (easier to remember people via their kik name sometimes!!!) a brief summary of our conversation we had, maybe we talked about something specific like sight seeing or talking about similar interests we shared or talking about cakes lol!!!

If somebody else I know well verify's me, I may not verify back, I figured they've been verified by quite a few from other socials already etc so they'll be ok!! But I can verify them at another time when I meet them at another social!!

I can't think of anything else to add, I hope it makes sense though! I hope people forgive me for not verifying people back at the time!!

Verifications are over-rated, majority of those are written as self-promotion by the verifier and tells not much about the verified. Hats off to the exceptions.

That is my opinion from the very start of my fab life - and my experience is exactly that.

People with verification list as long as my arm turned to be total waste of time.

Yet some unverified folk - or people with one or two hidden veris - are the real business.

It's like a game, the more veris one has, the more fab one gets

This is my fourth profile in 8 years.

I didn't have any veries on the first one but the others were all well verified and there has never been any crossover between the profiles.

I've never been verified by someone I've met on a previous profile because I've always wanted a clean slate without the drama and jealousy that caused me to delete the previous profile.

On this profile I've had people contact my verifications asking for my personal info or just as bad, asking for a referral including some outside my age filters.

If you can't contact me there's a good reason for that.

If you can contact me and choose to do it through someone else you will only succeed in being blocked.

I don't show verifications from those who thought it was ok to pass my details to complete strangers.

Anyone else use veris this way? If a profile catches my attention I might look at their displayed veris and based on the age of their previous meets I might chose to message or not. I'm 50's not a lot of potential messaging someone who usually meets 30's

I would always verify someone I met, but I don't mind if they display or not.

I haven't actually looked at the veris I am showing in ages. I know I don't show some for a few different personal reasons. Some because I regret having met them, some we no longer are in touch,some are too quick to share info of mine with others or they decided to hide my Veri so I took theirs down as well. A few people have left as well so there is no Veri to show anymore.

I'm not really meeting at the moment so I obviously don't do veris or get new ones.

I'm not bothered about veris anymore if I do meet someone and they Veri me I'd Veri them back.Or if it was someone who didn't have a Veri. In saying that though I no longer take part in help a fabber thread because I found they were easy for people to put on a front for a small bit and I regretted a veri I gave someone after.Or they expected more than just a coffee and chat at them.

I've veried some people who never bothered to veri me back that's fine if they don't want to.

There is a lot of silly games played about veris to be that bothered anymore with them.And despite what people who have none think they don't open the floodgates to meets.

I've only veried a few people more than once, usually people who left and came back and one person as a funny veri as we had been meeting a good while.

I don't display the ones with graphic details. A touch of class is always a desirable quality in any verification. I have about 50 or 60 not displayed for this exact reason.

As for reciprocating verifications, this is something I view as a common courtesy. If someone took time out of their day to draft and post a verification, then I have to reciprocate, even if I have no intention of meeting them again.

As for those who don't return a verification I posted for them, I simply block them after two weeks. I feel they don't deserve this courtesy, especially if they display mine.
