Oh no!! That’s mainly the only one I have because of all the groups I’m in.

Facebook, we both deleted it years ago. Its such a ridiculous platform.

In recent years its become quite obvious the facebook crowd have migrated to Twitter.

I would delete Facebook but I’ve to many photos on it. Plus I use it for my small business. Twitter is great if you’re following the right people for up to date news and the likes. Oh Instagram. I must delete that app

X is gone a bit nuts, but you need to train the Algo.

Don't be following morons like Musk, Mcgregor, LeTissier, Morgan, numeorus accounts on far-left and far-right. Avoid everybody with flags in profile, British, Irish, US, Russian, Israel, Palestine, etc.

You can clean it up and it's really good. I had a second account that I used strictly for business and finance updates, followed some intelligent investors, analysts and so on. Somewhere along the way I followed a few other unknowns with large follower counts that generally shared interesting insights. That was until covid and so many went down the rabbit holes, it was really strange to watch. My feed became a cesspit!

Interesting to hear peoples takes on LinkedIn.

I think it's a great place if you're looking for a career move. Particularly if you're in the 35+ range. So many recruitment, HR and agencies are teeming with young people, with little idea of what their doing, all just chasing any aul shite to get their commission.

I've got every position through LinkedIn for the last 15yrs!

I signed up just over 5 years ago.

Never had a CV in my life until then.

I wasn't actively looking for a new job but I was approached and offered an interview within 2 days of joining and changed jobs shortly after.

Deleted the app shortly after because I had no idea what else I could do with it and it was easier to delete than work out how to stop all the constant notifications.

Haven't used it since.

I suppose, like anything, it depends on what you do and what you're interested in. I find it really good for keeping up with the latest technology, materials and methods. It does get a bit Facebookie from time to time and something they should clean up!

Also had issues when I connected with a few people I'd worked with from India and Pakistan, got inundated with connections and updates from that region since!

I only use Fab now..no other social media..& yes fab to me is social media despite some giving me grief & abuse before & saying I'm using fab as if it is social media..there's very much a social aspect to Fab & hence it is social media to me.

I didn't get any of that, too many views and very little messages offering advice and definitely no offer of jobs!! Any advice on what I should be doing to attract recruitment agencies etc!! I gave up on it for years because it made no difference I'm on the basic package, maybe that's where I'm going wrong, less options!

Can't give you any advice unfortunately.

I was on the basic package and signed up with nothing on my profile apart from the CV I had written the day before and 2 days later got a call from an agency to see if I was interested in speaking to their client.

I didn't do anything else with it and as soon as I got the new job I deleted it.

I don't have any qualifications apart from experience and had no interest in networking.

Do not pay for the premium, I did recently, out of interest. I was pure sick when I forgot to cancel and had to pay an extra month!

There is no real benefit at all, the "open to work" tag is better.

As regards networking, figure out who's hiring in your industry. This goes for business owners, people who work in that industry and maybe specialist recruiters.

I tend to avoid the large recruitment agencies and any individual younger than 40! (Had a young lad ask me one time why I left my industry in '09 to '12. Had to explain to him how the country had nearly imploded on itself and that his parents had done a great job shielding him!)

Any of the platforms really..... don't use X, but even WhatsApp has become intrusive on the nerves with groups and messages yet I have become invested in the contacts on it that I genuinely value.... however if I could wean all those I desired off it at once I would happily leave it go.
