In Ireland?

Black pudding.

The boudin noir/morcilla/blood sausage is something I cannot even contemplate.

A nice black pudding... a meal in itself, with all the trimmings.

"Spuds !"

First instinct is to agree... however....as a chef the one thing that could mess up the culinary world, globally if it went missing, would be onions.

That would change everything!

So onion it is (includes all in the family ie garlic, left etc)

Had to look up Grinder bread. For a second I thought it sounded like something German with lots of vollkorn and chia seeds.

Well, I learned something new today.

Here it's just baguettes, ciabattas, and fresh baked whole round loaves. Don't even think of buying American style sandwich bread, the stuff is awful and stale.

The Germans just eat anything they can put a wurst in.

I totally agree.

Nothing like the smell of fried onions that triggers hunger pangs... especially at midday.
