Just wondering how many fabbers like myself are celebrating their 50th birthday this yr what have you decided to do for the big day I can't decide whether I want an all out outrageous party or just something small and intimate with a few close friends after all it only happens once lol

Sounds like you might need to do both options if you can't decide

Tallaght

I turned 50 almost 2 years ago and I had a party with family & friends. I’d never had a big party other than my wedding (single now) and It was one of the best nights of my life and a great way to celebrate with the people I love. I had a Dj who played all my favourite songs - I’m really into dancing.

So I’d recommend doing what you really want to do - that’s the way I live my life and it makes me happy!

Enjoy

Why not do everything OP (big party as well as small get togethers)? I started with a big party (had an amazing night with great memories) as well as smaller little celebratory events throughout the year which were all lovely. I found turning 50 to be a liberating experience - hopefully you will enjoy it too and celebrate it exactly how you want.

Yes we all feel younger in our heads I'm actually feeling ok about it I was more upset about turning 30 for some reason I do feel a little sad at times because I look back aty life and think what have I done with 50yrs I have no kids and I have never married but then I think well Im lucky than most as I have a job that I love family that care about me and I have my own house which I pay for on my own so life's not so bad I'm actually really looking forward to turning 50 new chapter with lots of new experiences hopefully a few of my nieces and nephews will get married and make me a great aunt I also want to travel more

My 50th happens in may,my first plan was to rent a large air BnB and invite a select few friends to spend the weekend with but that fell through. So I'm just chilling with two close friends on the weekend (hopefully) and the weekend after spend it with other close friends.

It’s a few years away yet for me but while lying on a beach last week I decided that for the next few years I’m going to put away a little bit of money every month and blow it all on something when the time comes. Not sure what the “something” is yet though.

I cancelled the travel plans and partying as wasn’t feeling great in the run up. My best friend surprised me by hiring a private villa with pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, pool room, a really stunning place. My 2 sons daughter in law and mum and bestie and they hired a celebrity chef come cook a 7 course meal with wines for us. Out of this world experience and surrounded by love in relaxed space was what I needed. Perfect place for a fab weekend as it sleeps around 20 but cameras everywhere and all not far from my home. The Lodge at Quarterlands check it out for a cool non fab event.
