"I'm constantly amazed by the way we don't use our power as consumers and give loyalty where it isn't deserved. For example someone like Sky who use introductary offers that reward new users but penalise loyal customers. Same goes for electricity providers. Broadband etc. I had a guy from Vodafone asking me to be a loyal customer on the phone when they hiked my price to nearly double after 12 months. If you treat your customers cynically you deserve zero brand loyalty. I've zero issue explaining this when I have to leave everyone after 12 months. " Completely agree with this, especially when they add insult to injury by then offering to match the competitor price (although, that said, it appears to be the accepted standard practice with all of them now, screw the customer unless they threaten to move)

I'd guess you could save loads by switching.

"Complacency leads to increases. Move and bargain. Youd be amazed what margins sales departments have to drop prices to save a cancellation. " This! Make sure you put in your calendar when a contract is up. Get a few quotes from competitors or use a switcher site. Tell them to match or your are moving. They are making billions profits and helped because we are a nation of lazy people when it comes to haggling..
