i travel all over

I have noticed that as I get older , I generally tolerate poor service less. If I get bad customer service somewhere I just stop going there or buying their product unless there is really no

alternative .

What about you ?

I'm constantly amazed by the way we don't use our power as consumers and give loyalty where it isn't deserved. For example someone like Sky who use introductary offers that reward new users but penalise loyal customers. Same goes for electricity providers. Broadband etc. I had a guy from Vodafone asking me to be a loyal customer on the phone when they hiked my price to nearly double after 12 months. If you treat your customers cynically you deserve zero brand loyalty. I've zero issue explaining this when I have to leave everyone after 12 months.

Vote with your feet. Move. They have no loyalty to you so they don't deserve yours. There are some great offers available if you shop about.

Completely agree with this, especially when they add insult to injury by then offering to match the competitor price (although, that said, it appears to be the accepted standard practice with all of them now, screw the customer unless they threaten to move)

These business exist to take you for as much as they can get away with. They are putting your price up because they are betting you won't change. I'd guess you could save loads by switching.

Far far away

Complacency leads to increases. Move and bargain. Youd be amazed what margins sales departments have to drop prices to save a cancellation.

This! Make sure you put in your calendar when a contract is up. Get a few quotes from competitors or use a switcher site. Tell them to match or your are moving. They are making billions profits and helped because we are a nation of lazy people when it comes to haggling..

Portlaoise

If I'm in a restaurant or bistro and find the meal is below standard.

I will bring it to their attention and of they don't do something about my complaint then I will leave a negative review on trip advisor. I don't mind paying for a good meal so expect decent standard of service and food.

somewhere

Every 12 months I ring my suppliers and get a better deal or leave

Don't give a toss who supplies my gas or electricity as long as they're the cheapest

Recently switched gas,The were due to switch me on the 6th but did it 2 days early

This kicked in an early leaving penalty of 50

So it was within the 14 days, cancelled new contract, rang old supplier and got a matched deal and the 50 back

somewhere

Restaurants

Had a quiet word with staff about complaints if any, send food back if there's a problem but do it quietly and it comes back all good

Had to call a manager once and got 300 back on a 700 meal for a Christmas meal by emailing ...no fuss
