I get junk mail,Christmas and birthday cards in the post

I can't remember the last time I got a letter that was hand written to me or indeed when I last sent one....probably a postcard from a holiday back in the day

Do you write or receive letters

There and Here

The last letters I received and sent was a few years ago when my ex-best friend was in prison. I found it really difficult - think I only sent 2 during that 18 months.

No I haven't handwritten a letter in at least a decade

I recently received a handwritten letter from a customer out of the blue though, saying how much she loved a product I made and she bought, and I REALLY appreciated that someone took the time to do that. It's quite meaningful these days I think to do it.

Haven't written or received one in years but I can't say I miss them either.

I used to have penpals all over the world back in the 70s and even back then there were scammers trying to get money.

It was a brilliant way of learning about the world though.

It was the trend of being expected to write letters to the American cousins full of humble brags about how the kids were doing in school that put me off writing letters especially when they had always done something bigger and better.

I haven’t written or received one in years but I wish it was still a thing, there’s something so nice about waiting eagerly for a response!

I do think the email has taken over or a whatapp message to say thank you or to appreciate good service from someone

I also like to send a little gift sometimes to say thanks to someone for something( how vague is that )

I love writing letters but over the years the to and fro has dwindled as my penpals have aged (and died ) it was mostly older relatives and friends.

I still write a few a year now

I really miss receiving letters, they always made me smile

I love writing letters. Don't do it often but now and again I'll set aside an hour or three and get writing. I own a few nice pens, have a decent and varied ink collection too and some nice paper. Love the experience of it!

I dunno this is probably way left field but if anyone would like a little personalised letter to say hello then message me. You can choose the ink colour and all! It would mean you giving me your address of course so I don't expect anyone to go for it but if it brightens someone's day then I'm happy to oblige!

City Centre

The last letter I received was at Christmas from an old flame that I'm still (platonic) friends with.

I used to love writing letters and receiving them and I've kept lots that meant something to me. It's kinda sad that it's become rare.

I do tend to write lengthy notes in cards instead. I think people appreciate that kind of personal touch.

Far far away

I love writing and receiving letters. The fact that someone took the time to articulate their feelings on paper. I treasure the many letters over the years. It's a shame its not done more.

It has been many years since I either wrote or received a hand written letter. Shame really as it is a lovely thing to get, much better than emails which are quite impersonal.

There was a time when a typed letter held a high value, now the value is in the personal and handwritten..... fecking problem for me is dyslexia and predictive text improved my spelling no end

During the dreaded lockdowns I received a couple of cards with lovely hand written notes inside. Unexpectedly, and really brought a lot of joy to me during those difficult times.

Sent a letter today- official warning to a staff member for driving a fleet car like they were Colin McRae but I don't think that's the vibe you were after.

I broke up with a lad about 5/6 years ago, it was so sudden and so many things left unsaid and I had no way to contact him but also had some things belonging to him so I sent them all by post along with a letter and I received a lovely letter back. It was one of the nicest “closures” I had to a relationship!

Re: Letters

Dear Mr. Bog Man

Letters on headed paper are still common place for professional businesses. They may be drafted on a computer but usually hand signed and maybe stamped. It’s more personal than email.

The Only hand written cards that frequent me are mostly for occasion or to spread Christmas cheer or Valentine’s Day.

Your Sincerely,

Gentleman Jack
