HSE std test kit

Sligo

Hello, before I start I just want to state that I am not trying to meet anyone here now, I’m going out with someone for the last couple of months but I like the forums here. People talk about sex in a very real and honest way.

I just received the ok for stds from the DIY HSE test. I followed all the instructions and sent away the vial of blood and the 2 swab vials but they stated in the text that they didn’t receive the swab vials.

I’d be extremely grateful if anyone had experience with these tests, are they reliable? Where do people usually get std tests done? I have no symptoms of any std but that doesn’t mean anything? Any input on the subject would be welcome, thanks in advance.

Dublin west

I use the sh24 tests regularly and never had any issues with them and always found them fast and efficient.

There are a number of other options available if you do a forum search as this topic comes up regularly.

I use these regularly they will send replacements if there isn’t enough of sample or it’s lost somehow. It’s reliable and accurate so don’t worry about it

They are currently processing 10000 a month so some are bound to gp astray. It's a great service highly recommend. They have a number you can text if you have any issues

Alicante Spain, and Cork City Ireland

You are lucky in Ireland. There is no cheap kit in Alicante. I can pay 80 euro for the basic up to 50 plus euro. So ye should all use it. Although I have been informed that the packaging makes it obvious.

The packaging is not obvious for the plain parcel you would receive from SH24. I guess the postman would recognise it though!

The return parcel that you return is very obviously marked as a biological sample, but it has no sender information and is pre-paid, so you just need to throw it into a mailbox, no need to stand in a queue in a post office holding your samples

Yeah if you live in the city it's probably not so bad, but if you live in a quiet rural area, then the postman will know, and whoever else he tells on the qt down the local.... Ireland is a village.
