Dublin

We recently rented a room for 4 people in a Cork hotel and met a couple for some fun that night. The idea of sneaking a couple into a hotel room for 2 adds a level of stress we could do without so we were happy to pay the small premium.

Doing the same in Dublin though seems extortionately expensive.

Are we overthinking it? Do hotels actually mind you taking couples up to your room or should we pay/play it safe and stick to rooms for 4? Has anyone had any awkward experiences? Keen to hear what you all do in this scenario

If its only for a few hours for one couple and overnight for the other then I'd only book a room and say nothing

Just meet the other couple in the bar and bring them up to the room for your play time

Easier if only one of you gets them from the bar rather than a big group

There's also hotels that you can go from the car park direct to the rooms if you already have the card for the room so bring the other couple from the car park

The main thing is to avoid hotel's where you need keys to access lifts etc

If you were ever meeting in Midlands the Kileshin Hotel's perfect for this scenario. The carpark is underground and the lift goes straight up to rooms so you don't pass reception.

I've known people who tried it quite late at.nightbwith their pals and were turned away.

It was more that they didn't want people having a party in the hotel room.

Earlier on the day should be fine as most hotels don't check if your a guest.

I've finely seen some family rooms - double and a single bed, or two queen size beds that would suit a swap.

You could also consider those apartment style hotels.

There's day use hotels in Dublin you can use from 9 to 5. I payed 75 euro for Jury's in Christchurch but there's other hotels on this site. I can't name website but Google day use hotels

This is the way I would do it.

And dont leave it till late at night where security is on checking names of guests.

Get in before it gets to this stage.

Also know several hotels around dublin where you can access the lifts and dont have to go near the reception.

If you look like you are not upto anything dodgy then most people wont bat an eyelid.

Airport hotels are always a good option as there are people coming and going at different times of the day and night.

My experience is most hotels give you two room keys. Just meet your freinds in the bar and give them a key. No problem.
