I have chatted to a number of people on here that have perhaps Dublin on their profile but they're actually from cork or perhaps they have Carlow on profile but they're from Dublin,

I'm curious to see how many of te do this? Obviously if you do you don't have to say where you're really from

I live in a somewhat rural area so I have my location listed as Belfast. More people to chat with and a lot of socials held there too.

I dont meet anyone who lives within a 15mile radius of my home because it's just too small an area, I'd rather not connect with someone I might know.

I can totally understand why they would have completely different locations but they might end up missing out on some great opportunities, if I seen someone noted as located hours and hours away from me then I would be less likely to interact as it would be too much for a regular fwb situation

Yes I totally get that, it's quite frustrating too though when you see a profile that really piques your interest and their location isn't too far away, you message them and they reply

happy days and then they tell you they actually live on the far side of the country

hopes well and truly dashed!!!

That's totally understandable as you can't put your exact location up incase someone figured out who you are . But I don't understand why someone would say they are from say Dublin but they're actually in Kerry

Agreed. Im about 40mins outside Belfast which I think is reasonable enough. Im in such a small area there isnt actually a whole lot of people around here anyway!

Understandable, I do the same myself for some level of privacy. But putting cork as your location when you live in Donegal is not going to get you many meets! Putting an adjacent city or county is no harm though.

I sometimes swap my location to refresh my feed too!

I am from my named location. It's a small enough of an area & it's 1 of them area's where evetybody knows everybody else's business. For now I've no reason to change it.

That said, I understand why people don't actually have their location. As the area they live in. I don't get people saying there from an area & it's an hour or more away from them. Unless there's no place nearer to them to name. Or why people put a few places down as their location.

I suppose each to they're own.

Why didn’t you just ask me? Rather than post on here, it would have saved all this.

If you look at my profile it clearly states that ‘I travel’ and Dublin was my current location. I work in Dublin; not that I need to explain myself. I also live in a close knit community, not that it’s your business but I only come on here when away from home due to discretion reasons. I’ve been in Dublin all week.

I wouldn’t mind but you messaged me after writing this saying I seem really nice - I am, and it’s a pity really. I simply told you that I didn’t get to Wicklow, which isn’t dishonest.

Also; you’ve changed your location to Dublin now? So you’re allowed to change locations but others aren’t.

It’s a pity really as you could have met me in Dublin (your new location).

I’m glad your post gained you attention though!
