Just inside the Pale

Sorry, I am new to this, but I have a question regarding messaging. I understand that if someone doesn't respond to your message, they don't want to talk. Fine, but what happens when the message is left unread? In one case, someone even browsed my profile but still left my message unread. In this case the message is left unread for days. Do I treat this as they don't want to talk?

Most people will look at the profile sending the message before they decide to open it or not.

If they respond to your message then they want to chat.

Anything else means they aren't interested.

I tend to leave messages on unread to remind me to go back and reply…I often forget to go back and reply though

I could be wrong but if messages are unread then if you try to message again the site warns you that your messages didn't get replied to so not to message again

Ya, that's true Bog.

In my experience OP, an unread message, message read, not replied to or deleted. Means they're not interested in replying to you OP. So just forget about it & move on. If they're interested in you, they'll reply to you there & then or sometime in the future again.

Try not to take it serious OP.

That's fine, I am very green at this so it was a serious question. I was confused by the nature of the message being left unread. I am not taking this personally, I am happy to move on. I just didn't want to cause offence.

Ya, I know what you mean alright OP. It can be a head wrecker at the start. You get used to it over time. Ya, do that, move on OP. Eas off the messages OP, you'll be better off for it, in the end.

Was honestly amazed when I joined the site finding out the number of daily messages most ladies received.

Best advise I ever read about messages was if you send them just delete them afterwards so you dont wonder if they're read or not

I tend to delete messages that are a first contact after I send them. I generally wouldn't in an ongoing conversation.

Of course people could use the Mark As Unread option to revert them back. Leaves too much double guessing and lift is too short for that

They can still read them, so long as they don't reply you'll receive a warning..
