Yes, it's not a good idea to get pigeon holed in one place too long. Also moving jobs every now and then can lead to pay rises above those given by employers.

Yep, sometimes things just work where you are, depending on your circumstances.

Always good to keep your options open, or have a plan!

Most working class take a career change at least twice in their lifetime, I think I've made three hopefully for the better,

If your not happy in ur current workplace make the change sooner rather than later it's really not good for ur well being socially n mentally.

My advice is without hesitation self employed the way ta go,

You'll never work harder for anyone else but urself.

Endless opportunities out there ATM,go for it.

Yep. I resigned my job last Feb and spent the rest of the year planning my career move.

I'm starting a new company in the new year and and everything is looking pretty good.

I made this decision 5 years ago in December 18 and left a company after 34 years.

The salary was exactly the same and I had an hour's commute every day instead of 10 minutes but I felt I had to do it.

It didn't quite work out as I lost that job after a year due to Covid but I'm now in a different role earning much less but with less stress too.

This the third role I've had since I started working for the company 15years ago and while it's not the highest salary I've had in said company the hours and reduced stress more then make up for it. I can spend more time with my family I don't get calls at stupid O clock on a daily basis. I'm not getting hammered by the bosses with work. I can't see myself leaving it anytime soon unless my nixer kicks off which isn't going to happen anytime soon.

Its a busy year ahead for me, I was supposed to move permanently abroad in the new year for a new job opportunity but its now pushed back until late summer time after being asked to fill in for a band in the West of Ireland on a tour they are doing in America early summer time.

I am very happily settled in my FINAL chosen career. It took a while to adapt as I was used to working 10+ hours a day for over 40 years. But I really, really love it as I get to spend quality time with my family especially my grandchildren!

Yip, I retired

Similair, I was in the process of getting a job with a reputable company in late '19, didn't take it in the end, they went bust 6 months later when 1 week of Covid exposed a gaping hole in their finances!

I don't know how people work evenings and especially weekends on a full-time basis. That's hard going, very difficult socially!

Well done, good stuff!

I've a course or two lined up for this year. Have felt I've let my CPD slip in the last few years!

I've changed jobs three times this year simply as refused to stay in locations that treated staff like shit. In a role where I'm looked after now, making more than I did when was in management and a hell of a lot less stress. Wouldn't trade this for another just yet

OOO hell YYEESS. Within the next 6 month's. I'll be leaving the job I'm in anyway's. Weather it's a new job or start working for myself, it's 50/50 on that front. Also I've accepted to going back on the dole for a period of time aswell. The only reason I'm still in the job, is cause I had comments to take care of, otherwise I'd have left this early this year. Early next year that'll be gone, for the rest of the time I'm there, I'll be there to try & build up a cash cushion.

I've had my fair share of job's & trying to get a new job. So I'm not set to 1 type of work, exactly. I'm even considering to moving to a different area for work, this time around.

The big problem I've found in the past & this time around again. Is alot of employers aren't willing to hire a person, that not experienced for the job. Even when the type of industry is crying out for people to work for them. As it's caused problems for me getting work in the past before & I expect the samething again this time around again.
