Is it me or does it just not feel like Christmas?

Very slow build up of festive spirit this year for some reason! But it actually suits...hate all the hype but love Xmas itself. Whatever happens,I hope you have a great one!!

East / North, Cork

Tree drying out in the sitting room

Kids nagging about toys

Leaping out of bed at 5am to move the fucking elf

Panicking about affording it all

Navigating time demands from relatives

Yep feels like Christmas

Thank fuck I'm well past the Elf stage...you don't know fear until you wake up shaking having realised you forgot to move the little bollox!!

I'm not necessarily bahh humbug, but I don't really get the Xmas spirit, places might look nice all lit up, but life goes on as Normal, just colder lol

Christmas tree is up with a week

No gift’s bought, but will do it all in one whip locally this weekend

Our kids are adults so they’re realistic about presents

The older I get the less stressed I am about Christmas, I’ll do a nice Christmas Day dinner but really it’s just a pimped up Sunday roast

Certainly won’t be getting into debt for just the few days, not worth it

You don't get much more Christmas than that.

All that's left is standing barefoot on a block of lego then you really know

Christmas sort of bypasses me to be honest

Get home one day ...decorations and tree will be up

Get home another day .....adult kids will have presents under the tree

Can't take time of work.... In case it gets busy.

It's not busy,.... So redundancies and threats of redundancy, combined with you can't take time off, just in case it miraculously gets busy.... Madness.

Positive: I get paid to sit around my house, waiting for it to get busy.

Will put tree up this weekend, might even buy some new Decoratiins. Thankfully no elf or santa believers here, so clothes and money or vouchers will make the shopping easier. I don't feel very Christmassy, maybe it ll kick off after 8th December.

I have always loved Christmas!!!

This is my first Christmas since I retired so first year of not juggling work, family and caring responsibilities and it's quite relaxing.

My son was born at Christmas so it will always be a special time.

That's a mad situation all together,

Midlands

Got the Christmas vibes in mid November. Some lights were up. Shops had some Christmas stuff. Jack Frost was out in full force all last week. People stopping for a chat. Favourite time of year.

The extra expense of everything put a damper on things. But even the pubs have picked up was in the Heritage Hotel last nite and loads having a bite to eat and a pint. Enjoy it while it lasts mid January February do be quiet

Rural

It's going slow enough although I prefer the early build up, the subtle decorations, seeing the selection boxes and chocolates early etc

Looking at the long range forecast now and again for possible snow.

Over the next few weeks you'll see good looking couples out shopping together, reminds me of time gone by when I had a partner and we'd get dressed up in our warm clothes head to Limerick or Galway.

Now I'll settle driving from north Clare alone across to the new line

in Tubber seeing the berried holly on the Holly tree's listening to Christmas FM then to the Christmas market in Kinvara. Meet a few friends, drive back by the coast on home....

South Co. Dublin

Divorced and live alone...losing connection with my three adult kids...working a lot from home so loneliness hits you in the face as Christmas approaches. To think I'll probably buy some processed turkey slices to make a sandwich to eat alone on Christmas Day is a bit depressing. But hey onwards and upwards !

I've my work Christmas party this weekend and I've started jarring up some homemade Christmas treats so yeah it's starting to feel like the festive season.

No tree or decorations up, that will get done on Sunday I hope!
