Craigavon

Regret not caring about it in school and looking to learn again, anyone here felt the same and recommend anything they found helpful?

Just using duolingo for now

Try and spend some time in an Irish speaking area.

A couple of weeks on one of the Irish speaking islands would do wonders. Maybe not summer though as you'll end up just speaking English to tourists

on the move

Use Duolingo to get the basics back. Then start buying kids books like Roald Dahl in Irish and read them with a dictionary beside you.

And most importantly get speaking with people. It’s cringiest at first and then easier

Dublin

I done a 3 month course and bought Buntùs Cainte parts 1, 2 and 3. Comes with a cd (how old school) to help with pronounce the words. I just done a page a day, kept little notes in my pocket to practice throughout the day. All in all, 10 minutes a day for 3 weeks and bhí mé ag caint, 3 more weeks and bhí mé nios fearr, and after 6 to 8 week bhí áthas orm go leor !!

Good luck and stick with it, once you get the basics and start putting it together you will want to keep going.

Irish speaking pub on hardcourt street is good craic on a busy night too!
