Does someone’s chosen profession put you off meeting them? Would you be more interested in meeting someone depending on what they did for a living?

Could be useful all the same, especially if the meet goes on longer than expected.

If they told me more than once what they did for a living that would put me off meeting them.

They say a funeral director will always be the last person to let you down.

Off the top of my head, there's only one that I'd think twice about & that's lorry drivers. Not because of the fact that they're lorry drivers but because so many that I've had contact with, want to meet in their lorry.

It's not a question I really have asked anyone before I meet them so I have to say no I can't think of anyone whose profession would put me off. Well I suppose bar those who use it as their USP on here.

One of the things that I really enjoy about fab meets is that our personal lives don't come up. It paves the way for much more interesting chats and transends social boundaries.

I have no interest in another person's personal life unless we become friends.

If someone offers the information that's fine, but I wouldn't delve too deeply into it.

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please)

Generally it doesn't bother me for a one off, as usually people make a special deep scrub effort on a first meet...

But I couldnt deal with occupations that get ingrained smells.

Fishmonger/butcher etc

Morally... only perhaps ministers whether that is Political or Religious.

Sadly I’m not doing a survey and I’m not currently from the press. Nor have I been in the pass or am I likely to be in the future! lol

I can understand that.. but sometimes it is the quiet ones that surprise...

"One of the things that I really enjoy about fab meets is that our personal lives don't come up. It paves the way for much more interesting chats and transends social boundaries."

Agreed.

Mr here.

We've been asked at socials & play events "so, what do you do?". Our straight, direct, honest answer is... "we're not sharing that information." Not prefixed with a "sorry, but" - we're just straight out not sharing that. We're at socials and play events to get aroused, not shoot the breeze about normal-life stuff.

We're not interested in what anyone else does to earn their money either. As in normal-life, neither of us care or are interested in your job or income; in my experience, the "what do you do?" question is used to determine your probable financial status and gauge how one should behave in your company.

Naked, with our average mickeys and dad-bods, how financially comfortable we are or aren't is pretty irrelevant, no?
