Rte is terrible, but im still using the TV for netflix, disney, amazon, streaming games etc

Tubirdy is taking a tot of the flak for something he wasn't directly employed into

Make your own mind up,you can be fined or imprisoned(even if it's only to bring ya in and feed you) if you don't pay

We haven't paid a TV licence for 5 years as we only stream movies. Don't have the capabilities even to watch live TV.

TV licensing came out to the house and inspected everything and agreed that we didn't require a licence.

Live TV is pish anyway from what we can remember lol

I will never pay it.

1. I don't watch tv

2. I know it's not only for TVs

3. I prefer TS

4. Why are you still reading this

i travel all over

Is this about televisions or contacting a TV/TS Profile on Fab ?

If it’s the Former then I pay it obviously . It’s the law , and it makes for better programming and means artists can be rewarded for their work

I pay because its the law up to now

But the other arguments can be dismissed in my opinion

Who cares about better programming if you don't watch any of them

Artists get paid....I dont get paid by people that dont use my services....can you honestly say their " Talent" was worth what they are being paid especially since when the likes of Joe Duffy for instance takes a break and the listening figures dont drop

RTE get advertising money paid for by the brands

Brands get paid by consumers so is the consumer paying for the ads and therefore RTE

I don't understand why people pay for bias one sided news and governmentpropaganda. They banned RT News and other services too.

I don't pay one to RTE but I reluctantly pay the BBC one.

I don't watch any live TV or news at all but I use the iPlayer now and again and avail of various other output from them.

I'm not getting value for money at all because the vast majority of terrestrial TV is aimed at a particular demographic of which I'm not part of.

The only reason I pay it is because its the law and I don't have the time or the inclination to debate it with them.
