South Side.

I passed everything. I lived far from the school, so didn't meet to celebrate. Such a relief that those exam days are over. And I didn't stay in touch, moved a lot over the years.

I can't remember what I got, but the results were goodish but not as high as I ld normally get in winter summers tests. So I switted a bit for the leaving cert.

I think we must ve gone out in town after... Deffo.

Yes I m in touch with a good few school friends, but some others went completely psycho on me, when they were bored during covid.

I was delighted with my results, I did really well. Went off out that night sipping Bacardi Breezers behind a shopping centre. Such class.

I did alright in the Inter. Went on to do the Leaving. After I got my Inter results, we went to the Irene in Parnell Street and it was jammers. Got with a girl during the slow set, went to the toilet and came back and she’s wrapped around some other fella. A little while later, I got with another girl during the second slow set. Got the last bus home. It always pops into my head when some says Inter Cert for some reason.

I have to say that in the few jobs I’ve had in life, I’ve had to produce my Leaving Cert certificate but it didn’t make a difference to the job, just they wanted to know I’d actually sat it, even after all these years. There’s a big emphasis put on exam and pressure on young people now on exams.

I got the highest marks in the country, was on the TV and got a letter from the President at the time…. Went on an did the Leaving and get an even better result, went for dinner with the President this time. Went on to receive multiple international awards and was feted by Kings and Queens, appeared on many TV shows where audiences gasped at my greatness, by day I lectured at the best University’s and by night I danced with supermodels…

Then, I ended up here !!

I can barely remember the leaving cert not to mention the junior cert. I think it went alright, I was pretty smart but very lazy. I’m still friends with a few of them but don’t get to see them as much these days as they live abroad.

Ahh. This time 52 years ago. Only seems like yesterday.

Met up with 25 former classmates a few weeks ago.

All looking extremely well and busy on fab I would reckon.

There wasn't the fuss in those days. Pretty sure we had a full day in school that day and no organised celebration. I suppose the fact very few were drinking made it less necessary to go out.

If the junior cert is the equivalent of "O" levels I got what I needed to continue and do "A" levels. A mixture of A, B's and C's.

There were no celebrations because it wasn't a thing.

Haven't spoken to a single person from school in at least 20 years.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I can't remember my inter results just that they were okay and not bad. I'd have been battered if they had been.

And no I haven't been in touch with anyone from school in a long time, and really have no interest either in reunions or anything.

I remember doing fantastically, the lowest grade I got was a B- and I got one. I got bullied in school so I didn't go out to the class trip to Captain America's. I went to Nandos with some friends from outside school, then we drank Canadian beers on the steps of the Central Bank, went to some sweet shop, a mate nearly got mugged outside of it by a Chap with a knife. And I had to get barbers from the Bedford Stuy Barbers to save his arse

Cycled 6 miles and back to the nearest off licence to get served a bottle of vodka out the back door.

So, it was chips, vodka and for the 2 lads. What could possibly go wrong??! Messy, messy..

Didn't touch drink for another 4 years after that.

Anyway we did that a week before the results came out as we knew the grown ups would be watching us like hawks so movie night on Inter Cert night for the 2 good boys

Far far away

I did well in my Intercert.. Last year doing it. Went to a bar near a beach where we all got served.. Still remember every honor got a shot every pass got a pint... The carnage. Shifted some lad in the dunes.. Long bus home.. Some simpler times.

Passed all way above my expectations. Went out that weekend and I hadn't to hide drinking from my parents as I was allowed a few social bottles of cider by then

I'm still in touch with a few of the lads I wouldn't say best mates now but friends
