Hi all. How can I check if pics sent to me are genuine ? Reading disturbing stuff about pic collectors and a growing face book page ?

There's no way to check apart from meeting them in person.

If you get a really friendly first message from a couple with (good looking) face pic attached and they have just one or two veris, that's a big red flag. They want you to send yours in your reply and it could end up anywhere.

Yeah I figured ! Got sent a friend request then after asking for a pic they sent a face pic of them at a wedding . A couple who look vaguely familar ! From Whe e I don’t know ?????

Face book page is something to do with people posting pictures gathered from sites like this

We def got stung when we first started

Easier now we got a few verifications under our belt, but certainly harder when first started before going to an event.

Makes us really appreciate the first couple we met in person, they took a chance with us.

You can reverse google any image. This is how we have caught more than one fully verified profile on here!!!

Interesting this has come up this evening. I have been here awhile now and I would regard myself as being pretty Vinny at spotting a fake especially with guys.

Got chatting a couple Saturday night everything seemed legitimate and put my guard down and their profile was deleted the following morning, gone!

Put my guard up again..

Got chatting a pretty girl yesterday and today, she has a very and her pics looked nice. She seemed nice, we were to meet today for a coffee but got “scarred” to meet in public because of “ all the terrible stories that happens”.. fair enough I thought, but went on to tell me that she was meeting her fwb that she met on fab maybe we could all meet, I thought ok fine and havnt heard back, she was mad to get more pics of me, especially my face. Lol yeah!

Then today connected with another woman, and it moved quick and I requested a voice note to make sure we are both genuine, she sent one no problem, something was off for me even though she sounded like a woman(happy days right) then something put my guard up again so I requested another one more specific, I think it was an Ai recording, I called her out on it so she sent another, it was an American accent saying she wanted to pinch my bum!!

Sorry about the long post but wtf is going on, now I’m kinda freaking out cause I sent the “ second person” my face pic and I’m actually bricking it now thinking they might all be the same guy possibly

Another important engine you should use is your gut feeling and your brain, which is in the big head, the little head one has none and will misguide you.

If it's too good to be true then it's most likely fake.

Just a reminder you can also use another app to fake live pics on that well known message app we all use. So when getting them to send live pic get them to blow kiss etc

No point using Google Reverse Image Search or Tineye on face pics as they only compare with photos posted on the web.

Fake face pics that you receive will likely have been "borrowed" from people who send them to that fake profile. So be careful who you send your face pic to

It's all just too risky for those who value their privacy.

Out of curiosity is the pics on social media or other websites? I know sometimes we come across pics and have to try and decide if it's a nicked pic or that's actually that person on fab

I cannot stress enough how scary this advancement in technology is. I just tried with another pic with one face pic of me in bed 5 years ago along with other pics off Fet are on a leaks page for sexy pics. I only would have shared a face pic by private message. So I urge you all to be very cautious. I wish I wasn't so naive 5 years ago.

It just found a picture of me taken at a concert that I didn't even know existed ....its not a picture that I took

Just uploaded a facepic to Pim Eyes and it came back with 2 results.

One from a business website that was taken nearly 10 years ago and another from the website of a company I haven't worked for since 2020.

The most concerning part about the second one is that all management pics were removed from that website last year because so many no longer work there and they can't be viewed by anyone looking at the site so how did the algorithm pick up on that one?

Just because it's no longer on display on a webpage doesn't mean it's no longer on the server somewhere. Also websites can hold copies of old versions of other websites even after they are changed.

Yup

Much of a website is not immediately accessible by the user (via menus, internal links etc) and yet is accessible by the search engines.

Once I Googled myself and found a whole range of silly photos i'd uploaded to a website but not displayed publicly. Let's just say they didn't show me in a professional light. Deleted immediately

I uploaded 3 clear face pics and bar one or two not being me majority were. How they identified me in a crowd picture at Pride Parade is crazy.
