I was one.. the most I get to do now is a bop around the house..

Does anyone here still have an interest? Any venues where we're not as out of place? Groups chats?

Missed tiesto recently.. that would have been good.

Yep late 90s early 00's were my prime raving years but I'd still get out now and again or bop around the kitchen while making dinner. My comedown days are over though now as I'm old and I can't mope about the house all weekend after a Friday out. I've got too busy a life and not enough good years ahead to waste all that time. There are some amazing producers doing great jobs still though!

Used to loved a good rave. Still love the music. Would love to see the likes of a Pete Tong gig in the uk for example. Not that many clubs now playing that genre in ireland unfortunately!

Exactly like I'm finding..

The classic club nights seems to be rare too.. (who remembers Rira's on a Monday night through late noughties?..)

What is it with there being hardly any bars or clubs playing decent electronic music in Ireland these days? Is there really no demand? There are still good UK clubs and the scene is big

Basement Jaxx, now your talking. I'm a legend in my own living room, still fucking love house, techno and drum'n'bass but most of my old clubbing friends seem to have grown old early. Grow old disgracefully I say, I'll be blasting my tunes out in the retirement home annoying the carers if I make it that far, loved every minute of clubbing in the 90's and if I had the chance I'd still be doing it now but it's not quite the same if your 50 something in a club full of 20 year old's. No matter how much you live the 'just don't give a fuck' mantra it still feel's a bit Jimmy Savile

Wow. Sir Henrys....

I remember going there all the way from Dublin on the bus. It was the same weekend as the Jazz festival. Carl Cox was playing. Place was jammed and sweaty. We didn't have anywhere to stay before the bus back to Dublin in the late morning. Somehow we manage to get into one of the afters for the Jazz festival. Started the night with techno, finished with jazz, then bus back home.

Then spent the early 2000s running techno gigs in Dublin (when Dublin was a techno town), people like Chis Liebing and The Advent.

Mad times.....

W.

You see, I did... But nobody explained to me in advance that the Cork social scene was 'different'...

Attended all these myself except the Asylum. Temple of Sound was a good spot too! Early 00s played a lot.of good spots, Temple Theatre being one... 10 Waterford, Enigma Carrickmacross, Shooters... don't think it will ever go back to what it was 😕

To the OP, don't think there is or will be anywhere we don't stand out like a proper mid life crisis trying to relive their youth 🤣🤣

Ah l miss the dance scene. Brings back great memories. The popularity of Jenny Greene and Block Rocking Beats shows that this genre hasn't gone away.

There are still great events to go to here and elsewhere, and great new artists on the scene. Just just need to let go of the idea that it's not like it used to be and make room for the idea that older music had it's place but isn't always better. Open your mind again just like you did back in the day and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Fucking yokes everywhere that night. People just handing them out. Whole crowd was off their tits!

Danced my legs off that night. First time I had a threesome too.

I remember a rave in the mansion house Tony Gregory (anti drug activist) was at it and in the paper the following day he was so happy to see young people dancing and not doing illegal substances.

under.events do some great raves / edm events. We are more industrial / EDM leaning so attend Resistanz in Sheffield most Easters. Slimelight in London if clubbing
