But will our U.K phones work in the Republic ?

I’d assume they would but we all use Irish phones and they work. I wouldn’t be 100% certain on UK phones

Op check what plan you're paying for at home with your service provider....make sure it has roaming

If you're ringing home don't forget the extra international digits 0044

Yes. There is an agreement between UK and Ireland networks. You will get a text when you arrive reminding you what your plan gives you here with regards data and calls

Definitely check your plan, British suppliers are under no obligation to provide free roaming since brexit.

Many still do, I assume. But definitely check!

Food & drinks

Oliver plukett st is good most places there are fine for both Washington st is good too some nice bars for socializing

The op is talking about a trip to the Republic and its not ruled by the British as you say. And as for taking the bait no thanks I've seen more than enough the effects that the Conflict had on both sides and really wish that the bitterness that still exists would just stop.

Im just back this week from the UK and my plan was the same over there as it was here , no extra charges for phone calls or data useage

i assume its the same here for UK users

It't not always a given that your phone/date plan here will carry over when you roaming (in a different country).
