Discretion and it's meaning

discretion

1.

the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offence or revealing confidential information.

2.

the freedom to decide what should be done in a particular situation.

I'm curious if someone says they are " discretionary " are the ones that don't use it flashing each other when they meet, wearing upside pineapple brooches? Or sitting at a coffee shop table naked?

I think it should mean the person can keep things confidential and can be trusted. I love the people who say they are discrete, they need avoiding.

discretion For me is important. Judge me all yous fucking want. Not 2 fucks will be giving. I’m married. Wife knows I’m on a site. Doesn’t want to know what site or what I get up to. 1 rule. Don’t meet in our local town or get caught. Reason is she does not want her family and friends to find out. So discretion is needed to a certain degree with me. Can I head to Dublin or Belfast and meet for a coffee. Hell yes. Can I head to any town locally for a meeting. Hell no. So judging people because the ask for discretion is wrong until you know the reason behind it.

Nobody is judging anyone who asks for discretion.

The issue is that many ask for and expect it but don't respect others expectation and are happy to pass on their details.

I would think most people want discretion I just find it funny to be told in a first contact that the person is " discrete" abd its expected in return. I would think most people can meet in a coffee shop or hotel and act discrete, don't think anyone is going around shouting oh I'm a swinger.

You'd be surprised. We were at a pre party for a big event in a pub not too long ago and one of the gang was going around telling staff and public in the bar that the group were swingers.

Apparently some believe that when they achieve a particular status on here they have a right to tell all to whoever is content to listen.

Others have to tag themselves with popular people in order to maintain their own status which often involves telling all.

It's only a matter of time before one pops into this thread to say how terrible it is.

That should say I have chatted.

I couldn't care less what people get up to , who they do, who they did, my only concern would be my safety, I'll make my own mind up about people but I have seen the gossip mills in action..
