It’s putting in huge performances matches in matches out over the course of many weeks. Potentially have to beat South Africa, Scotland, France/ New Zealand and that’s just to make a semi. Everyone will dare to dream but people are also realistic. Ireland have had great teams before entering world cups and then implode. I don’t expect the same to happen this time but we are in the pool of death as they call it with a very difficult quarter if we do come out. I’m watching many diff rugby podcasts with experts and nobody yet has said we will make the semis, never mind win it. I’d love to see POM sign off with a World Cup medal. The same applies after a more than likely brutal battle with South Africa. Strong chance also Pollard will be back for them. I’d fancy us to come out of group but if we imploded , would it surprise me? No. It has happened before, more than once and this time we have a harder group with a tougher quarter opponent if we get out. keeping certain personal fit is the key to having a chance to do anything. "I do love it when rwc comes around ..I've been watching every 4 years for as long as I can remember and history dictates that Ireland will crash out, they seem to place so much emphasis on the 6 nations and when world cup comes along it's almost as if it doesn't matter, last world cup under joe Schmidt was a pathetic attempt altogether .. Ireland have never gone beyond the quarter finals in wc , isn't that a shocking inditement of supposedly top tier rugby nation, let's hope the green bottlers can do something good this time " last World Cup under JS we looked impressive coming into it also.
