Is anyone else demented trying to find student accommodation. Trying to find in sligo is like trying to win lotto .He starting 1st year in Sligo Itand cant find accommodation.

Trying to find a school bus is worse apparently can't get bus drivers it's shocking,hope you find somewhere op

My sister had similar problem last year for her daughter but for a Dublin based college.

I managed to help her get a few contacts by sending out messages into various WhatsApp groups I was a member of...like primary and secondary school groups, friend and family groups.

If you can find anyone who might have a friend/relative etc living in a local estate - these are people who might have contacts with locals who might be members of resident's associations etc who rent out rooms.

See if you can find local town groups on fake book - become a member, put out a post looking for recommendations...

Hope this helps. Trying to find accommodation in this day and age is a nightmare!!!

Or maybe try some of the caravan parks as they may consider long rent until next summer . Might give you a lil time to secure house

Try FB groups. A couple of Sligo landlords advertise that way. Not sure how reputable though. Do they know anyone who is already in Sligo? Sometimes word of mouth can be the best contacts.

The colleges counselors could have a list for digs, but honestly it's gonna be hard to find something this late for a reasonable price
