Abandoned during toilet trip

Blanchardstown

I met a woman from Dundrum today. She was nothing like her profile but I was polite enough to formulate in my head what I would say to let her down gently when the time came. We spoke about how strange this site can be and she mentioned how some folks would not show up and even vanish during a date.I sympathized with her and we laughed it off. When I returned from the gents she had vanished leaving me with the tab and feeling slightly embarrassed.

No real point to this story and fits not an expose but just a be careful lads.

I thought this thread was going to be about things you left behind in the toilet. I forgot my phone once or twice!

But that's quite a story OP! What makes it is that she telegraphed what would happen.

But like someone else said, seems like embarrassment was saved all around in this case.

Try and be philosophical about it. She didn't waste too much of your time. You didn't have to go through the awkwardness of turning her down. At least she turned up. She was probably very unsure of herself (given that she didn't represent herself truthfully).

Sorry op for what happened to you, but it's funny that I heard a story of another guy that met a lady in dundrum recently.

They chatted over coffee, then decided to take it further.

He booked a hotel close by, she said she'd run to the toilet first and kept running.

He ended up with a hotel room which was non refundable and the coffee bill.

Happened me once, in Cork city. Spent 3 or 4 hours chatting away, drinks served to the table, me paying, and when I came back from the toilets she was gone. I left, and could see her walking down the street, hand in hand with someone else. I left the site after that, but got my confidence back and rejoined, and met really nice people.

There's allsorts out there, just to give it time to find the nice ones (with a devilish attitude in bed, street angels, bed devil's)....

Eventually. She brought up the back of the car park. It took me about a year to realise she wanted to have sex and she laughed at me for wanting to hold hands.

I just remembered the time I went with a fabber to Dublin zoo and at the gate he asked me would I mind paying for my own ticket, I agreed I would, at which point he pulls out a 2-for-1 voucher, so I paid for my ticket and he went in for free.

Actually that didn't happen, I'm just lightening the mood, but the moral of these stories are there is and always will be those who have no problem taking or making, whether that be coffee, drinks, coctails, food or hotels, just put it down to experience. Nice choice on the bar btw, not many will let you sit drinking without payment.

And one more thing OP, if someone was not like their profile in any way why would you stay drinking? I realise you were being kind but one drink would still have been considered gentlemanly.

I suppose you wanna give people the benefit of the doubt, but I would feel very uncomfortable saying to someone that they're nothing like their profile - that's just me.

I've not had any experience like that on fab, but on dating sites. Turned up for coffee and you'd swear I'd farted in her face. I normally wouldn't mind, but it was a 2 hour drive

She knows its easy if she's deleting her profile and then setting up again to try her luck

At least its in the open now and hopefully others now are more weary of meeting in Dundrum

I presume it was the pub in Dundrum and it's fairly easy to disappear going to or coming back from the toilets

You make a fair point, that said, I had travelled quite a distance so I thought no harm in hanging out for a couple of drinks. The conversation was flowing and we even had a laugh about this and that.

I paid for the first round then they offered a tab after that.

I am putting it down to experience but as I said earlier, two others have contacted and now a third person with the same complaint.

Since her modus operandi seems to be drink ,go and delete her profile we'll never know but she probably gets a huge kick out of it especially if she's reading this thread

We will never know. Well, of course not until she creates a new profile instead of the one deleted and put up pictures from 15-20 years ago (or the ones taken from the right angles). Only then we could have a small window of opportunity to ask her before she deletes that profile again.

"Yes after a drink we sat out back in the beer garden/shipping container area. I had went bathroom at one point and she'd done a runner and I was blocked on what's app by then.

If she blocked you on WhatsApp then she has you blocked but not others.

Send me her number. I'll ask her myself why she left you sitting with the bill.

Leaving someone with the bill like that is a c*nt of a move (to put it in it's mildest form).

Woman should be ashamed of herself.. Pm sent "

Please don’t tell me you’ve sent on her phone number to a stranger

There are opportunists everywhere. They'd take your eye out if they thought they could get away with it. Kinda shocking when you yourself have been brought up to treat people with respect. It's often down to poor parenting I think.
