Meeting people from too close to you

Dublin

Just a random question but how does everyone feel about meeting people from their actual town/ local area?

I know we all love and hope for discretion but sometimes if potential partners are too close to home I tend to give them a miss, but I'm just wondering what does everyone else do in these circumstances?

I used say no.

Then one dark winter night I met someone while in Dublin. Both of us on business trip, both from the same estate. She was about 20 years older. We had a lovely chat and it was a great release talking openly to someone I knew. The sex afterwards was mindblowing - but a once off. We never spoke about it again but smile when we pass.... prob better than meeting a cousin at an adult party.

Yeah, I've had a few that were discrete but the fear kind of takes over tbh because I've also had guys who have gone nearly full stalker mode after just 1 meet.

Probably one of those "play it by ear" things

Lol, god I never want to meet a cousin at an adult party but your example gives hope... it was a neighbour who introduced me tl Fab in the first place so maybe I should stay open minded

All depends on the chemistry and if he's putting pressure. Any pressure increases the risk of a stalker. But he might also be a good candidate for friends with benefits if you want someone local who might pop over when you want him

If both are unattached, who cares, casual sex is legal. The whole world doesn't need to know, but at the same time adults can do whatever they want.

Was thinking of starting this exact same thread. Reading through the posts here it’s clear that it’s up to the individuals involved. In the past I’ve been turned down for trying to meet up with someone who lived in the same town. In the end I just assumed they didn’t want to meet me anyway.

Once I meet a lady who’s daughter lived two doors down from me for a social. Never seen her again, at the time I just assumed she wasn’t interested.

We had a social with a smoking hot couple and everything was going great. Through chatting we realised that the girl was my grandmother's nursing home nurse and lived down the road. They freaked and left the site immediately. Shame as we fancied the fuck out of them.

Yes it would be nice to have someone closeish, depending on how discreet they can be.

But it's like the age old debate of would you be with a work colleague??

Personally, work colleagues are out of the question for me but a discreet person close to me with the same ideals would be perfect.

Pm for eircode

I'm joking

A town near you

We've met a couple from the next town over about 15 min drive away and we have met a guy a few times who lives faraway but his home place is a 5 min drive from ours.

I'd meet someone from the town/area I'm from alright. As it'd be nice or at least handy to someone to talk to, if nothing else. Playing with them, would be a different story(for me anyway's). For privatise reasons, as you don't want everybody in the area knowing your business so to speak. That said, they've just as much to lose, as you do. There's always 1 that'll let the cat out of the bag, in someway or another. Can't see any of my Neighbour's doing it or if they are it's been happening for year's. Nobody takes any heed of it now. Some of them are (penting) Tom's. So not much goes on around here, without them knowing about it. Hence why I don't accommodate any play meets.

I have no issues of meeting anyone from anywhere.

But, in my age...the closer the better, it cuts all those logistic issues and such.

Ideally, I'd have ladder over the fence to my neighbour

But, as they say, everyone is invited, not everyone is selected based on trust and mental maturity among other things.

"People talk..... "

...then those are the wrong type of people, no matter, where they are living, or not?

Furthermore, if everyone is single unattached or playing with consent of their other half, where is the issue?

Plenty of verifications being typed every day on this very page, which, is pretty much talk in roundabout way, no?

Just asking for a friend...

Small town or village, I’d be cautious

In a big city, I’d have no qualms

You can tell your friend. I just like to keep my private life separate from my Fab life. I don't like any crossovers. As Castello said in rural communities, People talk and you met them everywhere. Verifications are different they don't shed any light as to where someone is from or reveal any personal detail. I also tend to avoid anyone who is too quick to talk about their previous meets as they are not very discreet and therefore not my kind.

Rural or not...this whole country is bigger village

My point was, that only fools are bragging in front of their 'friends' about 'who they've just nailed...'

It's got nothing to do with where one lives. It's the wrong choice, in my opinion, but I do understand that it all goes don to personal preference.
