Little decisions can all add up

Tomorrow

Start with thinking about some things you’ve done well or are grateful for

Go for a walk

Talk to someone who comforts you

No booze tomorrow

Make plans for the week

And just recheck your mood in 24 hours

Depression what an ugly cunt of a thing. Affects a lot more men than women. Sorry lady’s but it does. I would try and avoid them pills doctors give u. Not sure of your background or causes of u feeling this way so not sure I can help. My story is an ugly one but I push through it every day with a 10 minute meditation in the morning and if needed another 10 minutes session at night. Days I’m drained mentally, days I can’t see tomorrow, days I don’t want to see tomorrow. Us men can’t or don’t want to reach out to talk. We’re big hard fuckers but yet we’re not brave enough to tell a friend we’re broken. But u know what OP. Fuck the world fuck the demons, you’re worth it man. When them demons come looking for you greet the cunts with “hello”. I don’t know what’s fucking with ur head or ur hobbies or background. I’m not going to say message me if u want. I’m telling u to message me and off load on me. I might not be fit to help u, but I can tell u I’m not judgmental when it’s comes to men and their emotions. I will try to point u towards help. I will try to be that set of ears to listen. If your reading this well done. You’ve made it this far and I’m proud of you. With a bit of effort u can make it another day. Might be painful but if u push urself u will do it. If your going through hell don’t stop, keep going,u don’t want to be stuck in hell. What I will say is fab isn’t the place to blow of. I find a lot of judgment people on. Few bad comments from a few fools will knock the shit out of you. Message me and I’ll point u to a facebook group for men and a podcast or 2 for us men that are afraid to talk.

I keep reasons to stay alive by Matt haig by my bed. Obviously if someone requires professional help they should seek it but I glance at this page every now and then

1. You are on another planet. No-one understands what you are going through. But actually, they do. You don’t think they do because the only reference point is yourself. You have never felt this way before, and the shock of the descent is traumatising you, but others have been here. You are in a dark, dark land with a population of millions.

2. Things aren’t going to get worse. That is as low as it gets. There is only upwards from here.

3. You hate yourself. That is because you are sensitive. Pretty much every human could find a reason to hate themselves if they thought about it as much as you did. We’re all total bastards, us humans, but also totally wonderful.

4. So what, you have a label? ‘Depressive’. Everyone would have a label if they asked the right professional.

5. That feeling you have, that everything is going to get worse, that is just a symptom.

6. Minds have their own weather systems. You are in a hurricane. Hurricanes run out of energy eventually. Hold on.

7. Ignore stigma. Every illness had stigma once. Stigma is what happens when ignorance meets realities that need an open mind.

8. Nothing lasts forever. This pain won’t last. The pain tells you it will last. Pain lies. Ignore it.

9.“Your mind is a galaxy. More dark than light. But the light makes it worthwhile. Even when the darkness is total. Always know that life is not still. Time is space. You are moving through that galaxy. Wait for the stars.”

10. You will one day experience joy that matches this pain. You will cry euphoric tears at the Beach Boys, you will stare down at your baby daughter’s face as she lies contentedly asleep in your lap, you will make great friends, you will eat delicious foods you haven’t tried yet, you will be able to look at a view like this one and feel the beauty, there are books you haven’t read yet that will enrich you, films you will watch while eating extra large buckets of popcorn, and you will dance and laugh and have sex and go for runs by the river and have late night conversations and laugh until it hurts. Life is waiting for you. You might be stuck here for a while, but the world isn’t going anywhere. Hang on in there if you can. Life is always worth it.

You have no idea what I am going through…

What gives you right to message me directly like that.

The worst thing you can do is bring your personal problems to a forum.I mean this in the best possible means. Talk to somebody close in your family or even your best friend . If you delve down and think about it people on forums pretend to give a shit but in reality don't. That is human nature. You will get lots of replies, I do and I do but they don't whereas your family or close friends do.

My advice is go for a good long walk, ask yourself should I really be this upset and the answer will be no. Come back have a shower, coffee, and enjoy your day. Make contact with somebody you truly enjoy and bring that positiveness back. Life is a calendar and we all have a day .

Not all dreams for kids come true , for example how many people are in the World .. billions..how many are international global music superstars?.. very few compared to the population.. nothing at all with dreams but realism has to play a part at some stage..the main thing is to be happy in your own skin ..be kind to others when you can ..the rest is only materialistic.

It is good to see positive and inspiring replys to threads like that of the OP.

But we must always remember that this is a public forum and the three buttons at the bottom of each post are what gives others the right to reply either by DM or publicly on the forum.

Posting on here is by its very nature an act of attention seeking, such as I am engaging in by my post, and while I don't believe it was necessary or polite for someone to hide behind a DM to remind you of that fact it is still a fact.

Today is the day to make positive changes and you can only do that one step at a time. The first step might be to take on board the good advice on this thread and consign the rest to the bin.

Very few people get to live their perfect dream-lives. I haven't. The trick I found is stopping wanting 'things" and concentrating on prioritising family and friends. Community over consumerism.
