I'm a HUGE Taylor Swift fan and I'm not keen on Bon Jovi at all so that one's an easy choice for me

As for what's better, music then or now I couldn't say - both have their highs and lows

Music is a generation thing , as kids grow up they're " into " what's there for them , l don't compare music now V music then , l only listen to what l grew up with , that's the Music l love , that's the music l trust , l very rarely listen to the radio now .

I'm not a big music fan generally but there are so many artists over the years that I really don't get why they are popular.

I wouldn't go to the end of my garden to see Coldplay, Blur, Oasis, REM and I'll change stations if a rap or dance tune comes on.

I know what Taylor Swift looks like but could probably only recognise one of her songs.

Then again I rarely listen to lyrics unless it's a song I really like and I prefer big stadium anthems that are uplifting and make me feel good.

Otherwise I don't see the point.

I would separate most popular music acts into real proper artists and manufactured twaddle. Taylor Swift is the latter.

Neither, Bon Jovi never cut it for me, too pop rocky.

Wouldn't know one Taylor Swift song, I only listen to temporary artists if they're extraordinary talents, they're very rare these days...

I do also like Queen, The Who, Thin Lizzy Phil Collins, Aslans rip Christy. Pink, Tina Turner I could go on. But would listen to classical as much as rock.

I know many love what they grew up with at the time.

Bon jovi are just a touring band and his voice is gone

Taylor has changed music with business acumen ....Id only know a few of her songs but would prefer to see her live than Bon Jovi

If money can't buy taste, How can I afford something that can't be bought?

I have nothing against Taylor Swift, she has her fans and is known world wide.She was an example of today's music just like Bon Jovi is an example of what I listened to back in the day. Everyone had their own taste, be it expensive or cheap. All I was asking was what people thought.

With all due respect Swift is any but manufactured. I’m no fan or anything but an interested in most things musical.

If anyone has heard of The National, they are one of those bands that a critical darlings, push the boundaries of alt rock and have huge emotion and depth in their songwriting and so on and on.

One of them constantly works and writes with Swift. She has also taken on record labels and has remastered and rereleased her albums so that she can take ownership of her own career.

Again, no fan just read and watch a lot and I think it’s too easy to slate people when uninformed.

I actually think TS isn't bad and I'm an old, bald headbanger. I had to accompany other half to Bon Jovi in Croker and I thought it was shite. Brought her to AC/DC in the Point and she was blown away.

I'd sooner go to TS than BJ (not that way ya feckin pervs!)

I think she has more talent and obviously easier on the eye for me.

Put Led Zep/Pearl Jam/ Adele/Florence!& The Machine/Stereophonics/The Frames on the stage though and they'd blow either of the two of them off it

I disagree .. one handy celeb relationship to the next, each presenting a nicely wrapped box of heartbreak that provides some fake emotion that the next dull record can milk. If she's anything then shes a great businesswoman who is always on brand and a PR darling. The actual songs are dull teenage poppy nonsense. The relationship With Taylor Lautner for example which fits so nicely with her tweeny twilight-loving audience. It's nothing that will stop my 9yr old daughter lapping up every second, but I just don't buy it.

Ah sure I guess some people just get too cynical as the old and believe the media imagery of an artist (not you of course). They can’t relate to lyrics or see them as disingenuous even though artists like The National and Bon Iver work with her and see merit in her work rather than a handy way to reach new followers. It’s happened to countless artists that are in the pop category for years. Anyway, I’m sure auld Taylor couldn’t give two shites what any here thinks of her. I’m off to listen to some “real” music
