"To be fair, in Dublin, it's peak season July, it's All Ireland hurling final weekend and there are plenty of nice hotels in Dublin for €180-€220. Lots of people complaining like hotels should be at price of 15-20yrs ago, €100 for two B&B or something. Those days are gone! Rising wages that we all wanted, lack of staff, rising energy, rising fuel have all put 30%+ on hotel costs in the last 3 years" I can agree to some of that but still a rip off in a small town hotel at €190 for a room they banned battery hens from. I actually got a lecture from the manager how they were short staffed...after a 12 hr day i was close to telling him to " go away"

"I'm heading to Dublin next week; €139 for two in a decent city centre hotel for one night I thought wasn't too bad. The biggest rip off I found was if you wanted to include breakfast...one place I looked at was €70 more to include breakfast for two " There's enough places in town for a nice breakfast especially the area you're staying in

I can only assume its a staffing and food cost issue, because its across the board. Staying in a hotel this weekend and they want €17 a head for breakfast! Not a problem in a big town or city, you'll have options. But not in more remote locations!

"Jaysis lads is it me or have the nightly rate for hotels gone through the roof. Even the off the beat ones are mad money per night. I told one that i wouldnt be having breakfast and he said they would take €3 off the bill...( anyone ever had a hotel breakfast in Ireland for €3?) As for the food if it doesnt go in a deep fat fryer or a single pot forget it. Im embarrassed for the tourists gets ripped off!!!" The hurlers in the GAA All Ireland final are both returning to their own Counties after the final this year , first time ever , that itself tells its own story as regards hotel prices in Dublin.. hotels in Ireland, at those times ,are legalized extortionists...the prices they charge are scandalous.

"What would people expect to pay for an AirBNB or do you ever use them for meets? " Prices vary so widely it's hard to say.

Two years ago, straight after Covid? Doubt it. Even in 2019....I cant fully recall but I doubt they were that much cheaper in July than now. Yes, some hotels are charging crazy prices, but The Burlington, The Samuel, Maldron, Cassidys are all around €190-€220 this Saturday night. Not many city's in Europe where you get a city centre hotel for much less than that. Tbf.

"Use a vpn, that’s what we and our friends on here do for events. The prices are lower when there sites think you’re not from here. " I subscribed to Norton vpn, set it up, tested it (whatismyipaddress.com), checked on two different browsers and prices for flights and hotels were exactly the same when I set my location to Hong Kong and then to Poland. Is there something else I need to do?
