Tough as a new male just got ghosted.

Hello fabbers, just a vent was meant to meet a couple who insisted on today only for no one to show up. Waited over 40 minutes before deciding to come home.

Just looking for a sulk it's hard to be a new male on the site without stuff like this happening.

So thread is people who arrange to meet up and then ghost why?

It happens lad. You can't do anything about it but what you can do is choose your attitude about it. Choose not to dwell and instead look forward, onwards and upwards. As was quoted by someone here once it's like doing the electrical wiring "positive to positive, negative to negative and don't forget the earth"

Keep on fabbing and eventually the rest of the world will catch up.

Don’t worry man. People have no manners etc. Just be yourself and only yourself if they block it’s their loss. You will be fine x

I used to get myself down so much in the past etc but i’ve learnt only you can be the best you can be. If people don’t like it then that’s on them. Even if I don’t find someone attractive etc when they approach me I still say thank you x

There are plenty on here who are just out to take the piss and waste your time. Don't allow them to.

Do your due diligence. Are they verified? Are they well verified? Follow the verification trail. If it seems too good to be true that's because it often is. Don't be too hasty to meet. Spend a bit of time chatting first to get to know each other. How is the chat going? Is there anything sounds off? Are you really talking to a couple? Remember also, none of the above are a guarantee. If alarm bells are ringing ask for a social meet first or just pull out.

Not victim blaming but you'll get better at recognising dodgy profiles..you're only on here a few weeks .....good advice above and also block them

Hope it was local. Lol. We flew to Madrid once after chatting etc with a couple for months and they never showed. Part and parcel of it all sometimes.

Now that would be pretty shitty. Having said that, I hope you enjoyed Madrid.

I spent a bit of time on Tinder due to Covid. I even drove for a few hours. I would make a new music mix for the car, pick a nice route. If there was a no show or a disaster meet, I still enjoyed the journey.

Probably best to keep doing the same with Fab.

You definitely deserve to be on the receiving end of things that are much more enjoyable Lolly

Bad luck. Used to happen us and is a bummer when it happens. We're alot more selective now and don't rush into things like we did in the past

If you didn't block guys from messaging you we could ask who they are and avoid them!

I'm also new on fab and Iv had a few not so nice people in messages.

I have a question for those on the scene longer than I... What's the best way to put yourself out there/ introduce yourself to the scene? I'm hoping to find the balance between being interested and and coming across as overly egar

Any tips, especially from a female perspective would be appreciated

Talk away here in the forums, look out for the help a fabber thread or for the socials for unverified.

There’s also no size fits all answer to how to come across as everyone is different and looking for different things.

Also OP it happens to us all, unfortunately it’s the nature of the game.

Report no-shows. Always. It's one of the options when you report someone

The Irish Forum is an underused Fab gem. Read, chat and learn. There is loads of advice on here. There are socials organised and promoted here for unverified profiles. This thread is updated often and lists all events:

https://m.fabswingers.com/forum/ireland/1419100

Those not focusing on their profile and depending on private messaging are gonna fail 99% of the time.

Did that but it was the UK. Thankfully they told me 1 week before I flew so I didn’t go but I couldn’t get a refund on the flights. Best €160 lesson I learned though.
