"They were bolted in , amounts to the same I know. They had a case last year where the submersible got lost, lost all contact and took the mother ship three hours to find them bobbing on the surface. It's totally dependent on the mother ship for navigation." Yes bolted in from the outside so even if they are at the surface they can't get out unless somebody on the outside is there to help, a few theories are emerging like they might have gotten entangled in something and got stuck or they lost pressure on the way down, if it's the latter they would have dies in 10 seconds anyway clock is ticking here's hoping for a miracle

Be very quick death. Better than sitting there in the freezing cold pitch black for days waiting and knowing you're going to die.

"I can't understand why there's no some sort of tracker to locate the thing. A blackbox of a plane can be tracked up to 6km deep water. " This was the first thing I thought. And surely the first thing the engineers should have thought

"Yet 100s of asylum seekers died in the Med last week and made less news. This " Did it though? I don't listen to the news any more, if I can help it. Just on the radio if I happen to have it on and it seemed to be quite prominent to me over the last week or so. But maybe in comparison, I definitely can stand corrected

"The idea of being four miles down is horrific, either underwater or underground. I don't understand the attraction to do it. Paying the equivalent of buying a house for the trip boggles the mind." Not that it makes much difference either way but it's 2.36 miles down, not 4 miles.

It's still a seriously long way down and the chances of getting another craft to get down there in time is pretty much non existent by the looks of it.

"Only a matter of time before the number of people who died on the Titanic is surpassed by the number either searching for or viewing it." There's a long long way to go yet. I think the current theory, based on how much it's deteriorated since it was found, is that it'll have fallen apart completely over time next few decades.

" Exactly what I was saying, iam obviously no expert but you'd automatically assume that the sub would have a tracker on it of some sort, apparently it was connected to Elon tusks satellites of some sort.

"The law in itself goes on about that it's a criminal offence to disturb the dead yet they keep doing it Egypt for one now this If their not found would it stop folk going down nope but even if found still wouldn't after seeing the dangers shocking is all I can think " George Mallory, who died on Mt Everest in the 1920s, was asked why he was so determined to climb out. His answer was "because it is there". I suspect going down to the Titanic would be the same for those who can afford it and are prepared to take the risk. Going down and looking at it isn't exactly disturbing the dead. I accept the point about Egypt but I'm of two minds as I appreciate the knowledge we've gained by such explorations. I'm also very much of the belief that when you're dead, you're dead. I do recall hearing someone ask... "Do you know why the Pyramids aren't in England?" Because the British museum couldn't find a boat big enough for them"

Yes, we probably shouldn't even clean up after fatal accidents, just let the dead rest. I'm afraid I believe that dead people are dead, and don't have any sort of consciousness. I don't imagine these lads were intending to bring up dead bodies from the Titanic anyway, and the chances of there being any bones at all down there are extremely remote.
