I remember, vaguely, going to that power station. Then places like Glendalough and Newgrange.

I remember burning hot busses and seemingly endless journeys.

Never did day tours at school but had a few weekends away.

A caravan site near Moville in P7, a hostel in Wicklow in 3rd year at secondary and a weekend in London in 5th year as a responsible adult to help 2 teachers look after 30 first years

The lads in the class were acting the maggot so our school tour that year was a walk around the village…best part of it was stopping in at our house for cool pops

We did bundoran, Louisburg and the crannogs in Clare other years though when they weren’t acting the maggot

I don’t remember any secondary school tours tbh

In primary school we always used to head to Salthill from Mayo for the day to leisure land, the weather was class every year we went and the carnival/fun fair was always there too, some of my best childhood memories are from those trips

Only across the border from us in Mayo so we're going to start taking our kids.
