Alot of people complain about getting point's for speeding & other reasons in this Country. As bad as it is, it's not as bad as Finland. Seen an article online about where a drive got done for speeding & his fine is €121,000. He got done doing 82km in a 50km zone. As fine amounts depend on your daily income.

So anybody willing to let the cat out of the day & say how many times ye got done for speeding & using Finland's model. What would the fine be?

I got done 1's, it must be 10 year's ago now. My fine at the time, would have been less than €5. Compared to less than €15,if it was to happen now.

And once I get 2 points for driving with my dog on front sit...

But always when I need to drive fast I have empty roads so at this matter I am lucky somehow and hope is gonna stay like that

Given that its above the speed limit ... fair enough thats wrong .. shocking and should be banned are a bit harsh.

Speed limits aren't half as useful as stopping distance limits ... if we took this approach the safest cars would be the fastest.

Instead we have roads full I shit that can barely do 120 and take a week to stop

Got done on two separate occasions. Second time was fair enough as I was doing 40 in a 30 zone and I got 3 points.

First time though was taking the piss.

There were roadworks on the dual carriageway for months and a 40mph limit. I had been though it dozens of times with no issues.

On my way home late one evening and came over the brow of a hill 2 miles before the roadworks.

The road crew were out moving the signs and cones and traffic was all traveling at 70 and came over the hill straight into a 40 zone with zero warning.

Dozens of cars all braking hard but most were still doing 50-60 as we passed the first sign.

Cops were standing with a speed gun at the second sign and I was one of the unfortunate ones to get stopped.

I appealed it due to the circumstances but all they did was send me on a speed awareness course which was a full 8 hours back then.

Part of the course showed how inadequate signage can cause issues for drivers and the two examples they showed on screen were a motorway sliproad at Mallusk were traffic has to go from 70 to 40 and the temporary signage where I was caught because of where it was and the blind hill.

I've had 3 speeding fines in my time. First one was before penalty points were a thing and the other 2 were only 2 points at the time. Clean since. I learned good and proper how to be better at avoiding them.

1 of the worst roads in this Country, for standard, speed & signs posts. Has to be the M50. 1,It's a Motorway. 2,You can only 80km to 100km on it. 3,It's the biggest/widest road in the Country.

I believe I would have been put off the road if I had been prosecuted and it went to court.

Have somehow never had a penalty point or convinced / coerced someone else to take them on my behalf. Had one speeding ticket pre penalty points alrigh.

Anyway, I grew up in the arse end of nowhere and sto¡en cars weren't really a thing so you had to drive it like you're late for mass
