"Just based on my own experiences medication and CBT did absolutely nothing for me. Over the years I've tried mediation and mindfulness even with the help of friends who do both as part of their jobs and again it did nothing at all. The only thing that has ever worked for me was accepting that talking everything out over and over again was just digging a deeper hole so rather than day I was going to do something I actually went and did something. That something was hillwalking and exploring the outdoors. I haven't looked back since. That's not advice btw because everyone is different. It's just what worked for me. " Hillwalking is a meditation in itself. If it gets you into the zone, and stops the chatter in your head, its great. I find it very hard to sit still and have an emoty mind. For me also, walking long distance relaxes me so much. | |||
