Anyone got any recommendations for me, I'm into all the classics ac/DC , g'n'r, sabbath, maiden etc etc but looking for recommendations for new bands if anyone has any suggestions?

Also, these are not around anymore but, if you like Sabbath, I strongly recommend Kyuss, specifically the Blues for the Red Sun and Circus comes to Town albums.

Ignore the latest stuff one famous member has done and DO NOT think it bears any relation to Kyuss, who were much better but less mainstream.

In other words, just trust me, listen and crank it up. Oh! I should also say, they sound awesome on a full sized home cinema system, with 2 x 500W subwoofers and nobody else for about a mile around

There's some good recommendations in this tread. Tool and Kyuss are excellent!

If your looking for Irish acts I'd suggest Gilla band and Gurriers. They're more post punk but they're really good and loud.

Restive nation are worth checking out and Cruachan are the best celtic metal band around!

Try a bit of Bloodbound, Visigoth, Powerwolf, Grand Magus, Unleash The Archers, Eluveitie. More recent Manegarm for somethin a bit heavier but not lackin epic style melody.

I love a wee bit of Demons & Wizards, too.
