Mystery holidays

A good few years ago now some friends were looking to go on holidays. They didn’t know where or what to do. So they asked some friends to book a trip for them and they didn’t find out the destination until they turned up at the airport.

Now during the week I heard that there are travel companies offering this service. You set out your criteria, budget, flight times, etc. and they do the rest.

Is this something you would do? I like the idea of it in fairness.

"Could be fun or could be a complete nightmare "

Travelling can be stressful at the best of times not to mind if you don’t know exactly where your off to

somewhere

I read the article about in in The Times

The reporter didn't really like where she ended up on a weekend away

I have a holiday booked in October this year to The Canaries for a week and there's a fair few fabbers going all of us in the same resort in different hotels

Half the fun of a holiday is making plans for where you're going ....an unknown destination wouldn't have any appeal to me

City Centre

I tried this once and we ended up getting Barcelona for 3 days which is one of my favourite cities! The deal was cheap as chips too!

I would definitely do it again!

I would even love to just find out on the day the location....I love traveling and a good adventure

Personally I haven't done much traveling. Hopefully that'll change in the future.

I'd be 50/50 on it. Usually I like to know, where I'm travelling to well in advance. What clothes to pack. Does people I know anything about the area or live in the area, etc.

I might try something like this in the future, as it sound's interesting alright.

That’s the premise behind it, you only find out the destination at the airport.

I’d do it for a short city break. Great way to end up places you wouldn’t have thought of!

My very first girls holiday was like this. 8 of us paid £99 each for a week. We knew it was Spain but didn't know where, it turned out great in fairness but not sure I'd do it now

Newry Down

A couple of times in the distant past, I played along with the idea of a mystery holiday, and they were valuable experiences, but nowadays my time is so precious that I like to make the most productive use of it; to extract the maximum value.
