Staying in Dublin for 4 days from 26th April and going to Punchestown races too. Would love some recommendations on places to eat and drink....and maybe more?!

Main shopping areas are Henry Street and grafton Street, grafton being the more expensive / upmarket

Pubs other than templebar, Grogans, the long hall, the Palace bar,

Food not really my forte, but if its a quick bite, bunsen fir burgers, pi for pizza, all bar chicken or mad egg for chicken,

Route out an off beat donut shop or stall, best In Dublin.

Something different check out token In Smith field for retro arcade and pinball machines, full bar and great food too.

Do a bus tour, do Dublin will stop at all the major attractions, Guinness factory, Jameson distillery, the zoo and many more,

International bar & laughter lounge for comedy,

Capel Street has recently being pedestrianised, lots food and drink options there too.

Evening and night south William Street is a good alternative to temple bar.

Dive / quirky bars, riot, cassidays, me ma's, the big romance both on parnell St,

The hill of Tara's only a short buss trip outa the city and

lead to this critical site.

St Patrick himself went there in the fifth century. As Christianity achieved dominance over the following centuries, Tara’s importance became symbolic. Its halls and palaces have now disappeared and only earthworks remain.

There are still remarkable sights to be seen, however. Just one example is the Lia Fáil – the great coronation stone and one of the four legendary treasures of the Tuatha Dé Danann – which stands proudly on the monument known as An Forradh.

Guided tours of the site will help you understand the regal history of this exceptional place and imagine its former splendour.

With a visit..

Don't know if you've stayed in Dublin previously but give yourself plenty of time to get to Punchestown....traffic can be horrendous
