I'll throw my name out if someone ever needs a chat, good listener & can brighten someone's mood up or so I've been told but nothing will beat taking that big step & talking to someone professionally, massive move takes guts but well worth it

The problem with the mental health issue is that alot of people want to wear it as a badge , the look at poor me badge , leaving the more vulnerable hiding away nd afraid to seek the help they really need

Always here to lend an ear too.

No matter who you are, there is no shame in seeking help with depression, anxiety or whatever else is bothering you. And if you've always thought of as the strong one, again no shame in letting your gard down and confess to a health care professional that you're struggling. You got this !

Always speak out never hold it in and too yourself. I would never turn anyone away or down if they needed just someone to talk/vent to . I’ve lost too many good friends because they didn’t have the strength to talk out.

Life is hard enough without others making it hard, no one gets out a live but , I’d rather someone talk when it is hard than to not talk at all.

Be kind & caring to people you don’t know who’s at the breaking point

As it's said on here before, "it's OK to not be OK".

Sp if anybody wants/needs to talk to somebody, I'll join the list on here for people to talk too.

For the rest of us that's having a bad day or in bad form, need to think "There's always someone in a worse place than you".

Small talk saves lives ..... and it's true .. its not always easy or possible to talk about your difficulties. It is however always possible to make time for small talk with someone. Taking the time to show someone some interest and to take them out of their head , or you out of yours for even a min can have profound effects on that day . Go for it . Just a few mins of interaction with another humane human can give us hope .

I’m going to take your comment at face value and I hope it comes from a good place.

Speak to someone. Anyone. Call into a police station and speak with the Community Policing unit. Speak to someone walking down the road or call a friend but talk it over with someone. No matter how trivial or complicated it is, share it with someone and get a different perspective on it. There is light at the end of the tunnel. It may not be bright, however it will always have a flicker. Speak out and ask for help because believe me, if you don’t ask for help, you’ll leave loved ones behind who will never have answers to the questions they ask.

I'm a long time of depression.

Mostly mild, occasionally severe. I'm fortunate that I sought help when I was in my 20's.

I was eventually able to piece together the connection between poor lifestyle choices - alcohol, cigarettes, cannibas adding to my mood.

As stupid as it may sound, when your down, the negative effects of alcohol and drugs do not really resonate with young people.

Alcohol is the dog that I have failed to eradicate completely. Albeit, I have control of it generally.

When going through periods of sobriety, it is sad to see the grip this industry has on the social fabric.

My local convenience store has more floor space for the sale of alcohol that it does, fruit, veg and bread.

I have my ups and downs, the battle continues.

Always a good option. Fresh air is an amazing antidote to low moods.

Small talk, interaction with others another.

And my own personal fav, is to find a hobby or past-time where you help others.

I do some football coaching with kids, the positivity is very fulfilling.

Reach out.....I've been to the darkest pit in hell the last 12 months. Slowly, I've made my way out...not quite out of it but the light is qay brighter. Had it not been for some very good friends & employer I don't know would I be here today. You'd be surprised qho has & is going through it, I know I was. Hang in there bro

Our mental health is usually a delicate balance that can be thrown off by the small straw that breaks the camels back or the big event that sends you into a tailspin. I've had a tailspin this week and it has been extremely difficult but thankfully I have experience with these feelings and I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It will pass and even though the bad thing can't be fixed. I know that I will figure out a way to get back to normal.
