Life lesson, it's shite and horrible but sometimes friendships we think are real are a one sided friendship.

As above. Process the pain. Feel shitty about. Accept that they've let you down and move on.

You want us to call round and rough them up a bit for you?

Seriously though, it's tough but move on and consider yourself better off without them in your life x

Don’t blame yourself and try to come up with excuses either. Parted ways with my best mate of 30 years last year and it wasn’t easy

Maybe your expectation of them was too high?

I was going to say tamper with the breaks on their car!!

Agree with the above though. It's tough and you feel horrible but you're better off without them. It's their loss is the way I would look at it.

People let us down, most of the time it's not about us at all, it's their own shit.

Forgive them for being human and move on, life is too short for bitterness.

Best of luck.

Its hard now but as times goes on the pain will ease but the lesson will be more valuable..we have all been burned at some stage in life.but its how you conduct yourself now which will reflect your character and other people will notice that x

I echo the above, the ones who let you down the most are those you believe closest to you sometimes.

It's a cliche but it's not you, it's them, and whatever shit they have got going on.

True friends are fare more rare than we think.

Personally, I think it depends on why you feel you were 'discarded'

Sometimes we don't do our fair share in maintaining friendships and you drift apart. Sadly, sometimes you might realise that they befriended you for their own convenience.

If they flat out aren't talking to you then you'll never know why and you just kinda have to move on. Same with any break-up really

I sometimes question if I'm a good friend to my closest friends.

Truth is, life gets in the way. If they were truly a great friend, they'll make things right. If not, you're better off.

Far far away

Often say friends can be for a season, a year or a lifetime.

People often outgrow each other or diverge or change by life's events. Don't bereat yourself, it's their issue not yours.

I've had plenty of one sided friendships over the years so it doesn't bother me now if someone who doesn't put the same effort into our friendship decides to wander off.

If it's not a two way street I'd be inclined to ask if they were really friends in the first place?
