IMO, FOMO is essentially a symptom of anxiety and an insecurity that abates as one ages and matures; very frequently I experienced an overwhelming FOMO only to discover later that nothing worthwhile had happened, of any tangible consequence, during my absence.

Nowadays, in contrast with previous decades, I rarely listen to any news progs and simply do my own thing

Now I make the running and leave others, more anxious and less self-assured than myself to suffer from a FOMO.

I think it's a stage many go through as part of their Fab experience.
