I’ve been ghosted so many times over the past fortnight and I’m hoping my fab friends can give me a possible reason why?

I have chatted, exchanged pics, chatted some more, exchanged numbers etc everything is good then nothing!!!!

Women particularly, get a lot of messages and I know I’m guilty of reading and forgetting to reply, so it might be worth a follow-up message.

A lack of inperson verification won't be helping you. Get yourself to an event and get meet verified. That should help reassure potential play meets.

Maybe look at what all those conversations have in common.

Are you coming across as too keen?

Exchanging phone numbers too fast?

It could be any number of things as well as lack of interest on their part but there is usually a common denominator if it is happening so often in such a short space of time.

Sometimes we chat without checking out the profile. Maybe there's something in there that turns them off when they eventually check it out? Your attached status maybe?

Don't invest so much of your time in online coversations. Also, if you've agreed to exchange numbers I'd also suggest doing it on the back of arranging a phone/video call. Work towards naturally progressing interactions rather than endless online chat, unless it's very short, intermittent messages.

Webster dictionary definition of Ghosting "the act or practice of abruptly cutting off all contact with someone (such as a former romantic partner) usually without explanation by no longer accepting or responding to phone calls, instant messages, etc.

I think what you're experiencing is something different to ghosting had the people arranged a meet etc. I've chatted to people and conversations might tail off but I wouldn't call that being ghosted.

Not in my book, no. People invest way too much in online interaction

Different strokes for different folks I guess

Based on the definition provided, yep, could be classed as ghosting OP. And an ideal world, everyone would be polite & do the whole 'thanks but no thanks bit'. I think you possibly ARE investing too much in online interactions and maybe, for yourself, take a step back & look at that?

Tbh I think that’s utter nonsense! How long does it take you to figure out that someone isn’t for you? I doubt it gets to the point were you have already given them your number!?

Giving a number out within 2 weeks of just chatting could lead to problems later to be honest

Your number could be linked to to your social media ,then the blackm**l attempts start

Very easy to fall into that trap

Well you must give out your number pretty quickly if you have been ghosted a load of times in the last fortnight.

And if you think the issue isn't that they lose interest or you aren't for them why do you think they cut off contact ?

I presume women get a lot of messages so they're probably chatting a few people at a time, nothing wrong with that and then maybe they just find someone they "click" with a bit better, nothing wrong with that also.

And then probably just don't wanna go explaining things, pretty standard really I'd say.

I've been chatting a few people myself, getting on grand then nothing.

Just the way it goes man.
