I would think the deal in those instances is that they don't want to chat to or meet people that much younger than them.

I have to agree with DH. Don't change your profile if it reflects you and what you're looking for. There will definitely be older women looking for younger men. The thread that's been bumped up though will hopefully answer your questions about why some aren't
