Maybe a group of swingers might start together , and see how far they get with blisters, sore legs, fatigue, etc. To be honest, exhaustion and tiredness, might force even the most hardened swingers to have early nights. However, I've done el Camino, and I'm a swinger, so, yes, it can be done.

For a couple of years I've been laying the groundwork for a Camino, but ideally outside the high season and the high temperatures.

To combine two of my main interests would be ideal; with meets with local like minded folk along the main route.

I have watched numerous videos online about the obvious aspects of a good camino, but have found nothing about Spanish or French swingers.

It's very easy to develop friendships while walking the Camino. In fact it would be difficult not to, such is the camaraderie and shared sense of adventure, and all heading in the same direction. And in every group I've walked with, many romances developed. Ive looked for Tantra massage along the entire Camino frances and couldn't find any. I never looked for swingers, as the craic and friendship was so satisfying.

Accommodation might be your biggest issue. Most places tend to be travel hostels so there’s zero privacy.

There are many different Camino routes in France, Spain, Portugal but by far the most popular is the Santiago; accommodation in the high season is a big issue, in fact a nightmare

That's why I would go out of season, and to combine group swinging would be a plus.

There is an interesting video online about doing a Camino in the depths of winter, but not for the faint-hearted.

There is piles of advice, some of it contradictory.

A high level of fitness and very well tested gear is a prerequisite.

I am a seasoned walker but I find the prospect a bit daunting; I personally need to be well rested. A night of swinging, would need to be followed by a day of leisure or very low mileage, in order to fully recover.

Definitely more research to be done this year.

Have done the leg from San Sebastian to Bilbao on the North (coast) route. Can't imagine any decent swinging being done with a trek of 23-28km next day.

The accommodation would have to be chosen very very carefully; the owners are expecting spiritual pilgrims, not group sex with local swingers.

Very nice thought and makes complete sense. This year's trips all booked up, but would be interested as I'm hoping to do Bilbao to Santander and maybe more in May'24, would welcome company

From what I have read and watched online about the Caminos, the camaraderie on these pilgrimages is unparalelled, and in fact some individuals have been so smitten by this unusual spiritual experience, that they have never gone home.

Swinging on the caminos is probably a rarety, but the sense of camaraderie from two standpoints (sex and spiriruality) would be particularly interesting.

The various Camino routes are all very attractive, but a serious level of fitness and preparation is mandatory for a Primitivo.

I have committed myself to a couple of years of very serious walking to upskill my fitness and whittle down my gear to the basics and little else.

I normally walk alone in training but the esprit de corps of a Camino is very enticing, possibly with a period of cold turkey on returning to Ireland, NOT to look forward to!

Done Sarria to Santiago last June, prepared by starting off with 2 mile walks and built it up to 10 miles. Really loved doing the camino. Booked apartments/ hotels through booking.com. . Aiming to go again in mid June. Great camaraderie on it and made lots of friends.

Hi guys..i have done james way..Portuguese camino and a few more...have say if ur planning something...i can help if u want..accommodation in the camino at present is very hard to get and have only stayed in private hostels..hotels and u wud get it hard to party as most places have strict rules on noise and lights out at 10ish...put we cud try..lol

Aside from the perennial accommodation issue, that has grown exponentially and is likely to get worse as the Caminos become more popular, the only adverse aspect is the thought of returning home after just having had a spiritual and uplifting experience with like-minded peregrinos.

You would be better booking single rooms for yourself. Last years temps were around mid 20s and a couple of days in the 30s. That was end of June beginning of July. There are several Facebook groups dealing with all the different casinos. I found it very helpful last time.

I walked the French route last year. Quite simple, if you’re walking with someone you have a bit of chemistry with, just propose to book a twin room together. You can guess the rest, voila! It worked for me ??

We would love to start our own path (camino) as some on here are aware the cork to Youghal path (former railway line) is being redeveloped as a Camino come walk/cycle path

So our plan is for campsites too be set up from Cork to Waterford and extend the path all the way to Dungarvan

Our plan is submitted to both ccc and wcc we await their response also we would love too make Youghal beach nudist only as it perfectly located on the route

Sunny south east Camino we can’t wait to hear from all you guys a 500 euro deposit is expected with any interest

Still waiting to get back to finish my camino. Covid fecked it up. Did SJPDP to Logrono in 2018 (6 days, 170km) and Logroño to Leon in 2019 (9 days, 320 km). Hoping to get back this year to finish it. My plan is to set up a hostel on the Camino within the next 8 years and retire there.

Statistically, peregrinos are rather unlikely to be interesting in swinging whilst on a pilgrimage to a religious destination; it is not impossible but I would not put a bet on it.

If you do want to swing after having walked in a blistering temperature all day, the best option is to bring a partner or better still a group who have this unusual dual interest and also phenomenal energy

Contact with French and Spanish swingers groups in or near the Pyrenees is also an option, but there may be language barriers, at least in the initial period!

Lisbon/ North England/ Wales/ Madrid/

Full French Camino from Roncesvalles to Santiago de Compostela takes 25 days and some fitnesses is needed.

However is posible to get the “Compostela” by walking 100 km out of Santiago to Santiago.

Accommodation can be manage as Camino goes through medium size cities (Burgos, Palencia, etc) in some others, the smallest, always hostal or hotel can be booked but need to do in advance.

French Camino goes through some old fashioned and narrow mind places so I wouldn’t recommend to make any display out.

There are some others caminos on the Cost line ( Santander for instance) easy to reach and cheep in Ryanair.

There are lots of routes within Europe that can be completed as part of the Camino, but the main route has become so popular that accommodation in the high season is the critical issue to resolve, well in advance.

Camaraderie is important but being packed into a large dormitory with the inevitable snorer to keep everyone awake is not my idea of an enjoyable trip.

Thankfully there is a vast amount of high quality information available on Google video to digest in advance from peregrinos with lots of experience.
