What pages do you visit. Like an Irish bar when you’re abroad do you go straight for the Irish page. Do you go and see if there are ideas to be borrowed from the lounge? Or would you check out any of the rest?

I generally stay with the Irish page and occasionally check out the lounge and very rarely would I even look at any other

I do my best to stay away from Irish bars abroad

but onky ever use this section of the forums. The small few people I've ended up meeting in person on here have all been the result of interactions and craic on here...

I aimed at Swingers chat once and my fat fingers clicked on the Virus forum instead.

I wasn't seen for 3½ days.

I dander into the Lounge now and again for a soft drink while dropping a few pearls of wisdom in my Liam Neeson voice and run back here to hide when all those weird women have the neck on them to reply to me.

At least in here the weirdos are normal weird.

I never go to Irish bars when abroad. Be the last place you'd find me lol.

However I do make a bee line for the Ireland forum. I look into Politics and World Wide too sometimes.

I think there is a sense of community in the lounge whereby very silly threads get a lot of comments from forumites who just like chatting there to others who contribute regularly . A bit like a WhatsApp group maybe . The Irish forum is also good but perhaps more hit and miss , with a touch more saltiness/competitiveness. That’s my take anyway .

I'd have the odd look but never comment.... shur the locals here bearly get my sense of humor as it is.... I'd probably start a diplomatic incident on one of the other pages.... we'd have to send Mehole out on the jet to aplogise for my carry on

I look on the UK or European forums if I'm abroad, I've found some good information on them over time.

As for Irish Pubs in Europe, there's only one thing worse, and that's an English Pub in Europe

I'm not going to find much local culture in Irish bars abroad.

I have enough of Irish things all year around without seeking them out on holiday!

No need to look in the Lounge when someone will always eventually borrow a thread from there to put up on the Irish Forum. No different from European bar owners borrowing the Irish Pub format really.

I don't have the time to hop from one forum to another. Besides correspondent Casual imports regularly the newest topics from the lounge, so no point in wasting more time over there.

I only hang out on the Irish forum and on the odd occasion I pop into politics. Mainly when the Irish one bores me or when I need a little giggle, as the politics threads can be quite entertaining.
