Planning a few days away in Dublin in may. Any suggestions on where to stay, where to avoid and if there’s any fun to be had? Also want to visit Kilkenny as have a family link but may not have time. Would also be interested in a tour guide lol

Skip Dublin altogether, drive straight out of it and head for Kilkenny

DUBLIN

Avoid Temple bar. Mespil hotel is fair priced. Get the DART out to Killiney and walk back in on the coast road. Good genuine pubs in Dublin are Keoghs South Anne St

Mulligans poolbeg St Palace bar Fleet St McDades near Westbury Hotel off Grafton St. Visit Guinness hop store and have a pint in the gravity bar. For culture Library in Trininy. For an anti British experience Kilmainham Jail will give you a history of Britian in Ireland, the Easter uprising etc

Hi guys New Park Hotel kilkenny ive stayed & would recommend. Also Wesport in Mayo is lovely too, recommend Plaza Hotel. Dublin id recommend The Arlington Hotel heart of city centre with live music 7nights a week . Dublin is fine to visit , just have your wits about yous , as yes there are a lot of chancers but once your careful as in any other city , you can still enjoy your visit to Dublin. Enjoy
