This pretty much. Physical attraction first then we need to be able to rub along together. An emotional connection is a bit of a stretch...we have each other for that

The 'we get our needs met at home with eachother' is obviously a great thing as a swinging couple. Essential even. But there's a mild sense of singles being used by couples as a novelty sex toy when you see these posts.

Not in a nasty way, it's just the blunt reality.

And it's where singles and couples needs often seem to conflict.

If that's all you came on fab for as a single person then you're flying, the fabled unicorn, but others would have to feel a sense of worth in the estimation of those they consider meeting and not just be 4 limbs and 3 holes to play with and be discarded.

It's always nicer to be seen and valued and wanted as a whole person. That'd be how I see the 'emotional' quotient being a factor for single fabbers.

I guess it's how you define an emotional connection, yes. None of us want to be used, not even us couples (unless that's your thing of course). We'd like to think we've treated both the men and women we've been with respectfully, and our encounters have satisfied their needs as much as ours.

As long as I don't dislike the person then there's no need for an emotional connection but there does need to be a a meeting of minds in terms of the role play or type of sex that we are going to have.

I've definitely realized that there's more to it than a simple physical attraction which would have been the way I thought when I was out and about "on the pull"

Physical attraction is a really good start for us, having a connection, in the sense of being able to have good banter and craic is just as important. Stupid questions and comments, or being totally full of themselves or the slightest hint of drama and we are out.

Emotional is not something we look for or want. I personally feel getting emotional involved is a risky move. But hey what to we know !!!

You could say that friendship is an emotional connection, in that, you are happy when around them.

It's when it becomes romantically emotional that you need to either check out, or if single to see if the feeling is mutual.

I'd imagine that romantic connections are common on here, considering the nature of the site and that's when the drama can start.

But it's great when relationships, engagements and marriages happen through Fab. You'd be delighted for them really

I feel that physical attraction with a healthy and balanced dose of Non-romantic emotional connection (let's call it affection or friendship or chemistry etc..) could be very rewarding, fulfilling and pleasurable to all involved.

Romantic emotional connections on the other hand, which in most cases come with unnecessary Drama and expectations of physical monogamy (which is quite unrealistic these days) are a No No No. They get messy and ultimately lead to someone getting hurt. I am staying away from that and would rather be single forever than being in a suffocating physically monogamous relationship ever again.

Having said that, if I am ever lucky enough like the one or two examples mentioned above to find that someone who is GENUINELY open-minded, and not just think they are, and who is capable of enjoying the romantic emotional monogamy and its security without any possessiveness, jealousy and the demands for the prison of physical exclusivity, then I would be a happy bunny and could consider the idea of going all in. That kind of person is more rare than unicorns and yet to be found.
