Reasons to swipe left

For those of us on dating apps, what are the things you see on a profile that mean an automatic swipe left?

For me, it’s Lycra/triathletes and pics with a sedated animal (tiger, croc etc).

Dozens of selfies and nothing else... nothing that gives an idea of what they may be into other than their own pretty face

Nothing against dating someone with kids but who the fuck parades their kids on a dating site for all to see.

Oh and endless topless pictures

My fav are the ones where it’s the same two people in all the group pics. Spoiler alert…the profile owner is always the one you’re less attracted to

So many of my mates are into competitive fishing and have comp photos on their profiles one major nein danke for me is the generic bio. Pictures can be deceiving but the bio gives a lot away about a person.

Have to agree, group photos are such a deterrent when I'm flicking thru, iv I swipe right and get chatting and then ask which one are you in the picture, I get disappointed with the answer.

If I can’t see below her neck in any of the pics, red flag.

if she’s holding a drink in each and every pic. Red flag.

Kids in any of the pics. Red flag.

All her pics are selfies (including her insta). Red flag.

Similar to most any pics with kids, torsos, groups in every photo, random landscape or inanimate objects. Also lack of bio.

No experience of dating apps but find it fascinating on how brutally discerning they appear to permit people to be in judging and discarding potential partners (based on lists outlined in above posts), presumably due to the accessibility to large volumes of men/ women on the sites - it’s mostly women posting on bug bearers on male profiles in this thread.

No expert here, but the irony of criticism of others by those who’s own strategy in ‘swiping’ doesn’t appear to have been ultimately successful yet, possibly isn’t the most valuable criticism.

I’d also hazard that the man being transparent about his interest in fishing on a dating website isn’t any more objectionable than the woman who doesn’t disclose an interest in swinging on a dating website profile - maybe worth getting to know the whole of the person and accepting the perceived bad with the perceived good. Who knows, he could have a big rod.

Apologies if overly controversial. Just a bit of balance… and in defence of us anglers!

Ehhhhhh calm your tits fun thread, not an analysis of why we’re single.

People get the ick for all sorts of reasons, they don’t need to be logical.

Don't want to be mean either, but I know a lot of people who use these Apps. When you have a chat with them it can become quite apparent why they're single!

The nonsense they come out with for not meeting or taking things further with someone, varies from the hilarious to the absolutely ridiculous!

To be honest, it's probably fear of rejection/commitment at that stage!

As a dial-a-ride app, they're probably really handy!

Are ye telling me that back when you were single, people you met out and about didn’t give you the ick?

Accept that fully, and apologies for the comment, not meant to offend or take fun out of the thread. It’s my own ignorance and perhaps jealousy of the world of dating apps that fuels the fascination with the responses - alien world to me so not au fait with the humour.

Just glad we discovered all our Ickes with each other once hooked and slowly being reeled in.

Not on any dating apps tbh , don't want a complete stranger on the internet passing judgement because if you're on a dating app that's what people do , it's not their fault obviously, that's part and parcel of it , you are not for them so they swipe left, they automatically make that judgement when they swipe left without even getting to know that person , it just goes with the territory , some people are ok with it , others , like myself, have absolutely no interest.
